100% recommended. Loved the novelty of staying in a caboose, but it’s more than meets the eye. Super well done, clean and well kept. We look forward to coming back!

Fantastic!
Hands down the best property we’ve stayed at. Easy check in and checkout. The caboose was great! Treats and ear plugs were a great touch. Was my wife’s birthday weekend and the owners left her a birthday card. We loved our stay and will definitely do it again.

49th Wedding Anniversary
Such a wonderful experience. The caboose was converted with accurate detail to history. It would be a wonderful place to visit for train buffs! There is even a radio inside that picks up current transmissions between train engineers as they go by on the track below. The deck on the evening provides cool breezes and a nice view. This one is a winner!

Excellence in the Art of Repurposing History
The Caboose is the very definition of “repurposed” when it comes to Art, History and modern day comforts of home all in one unique package. The hosts Dan & Janine really went all-out to refurbish the Caboose into a very comfortable and modern living space, but kept all the authentic features of a genuine train caboose! This is the place for both nature lovers and those who appreciate the trains and trucks on the highway that deliver America's economy. Safe, private, comfortable and very relaxing, this Caboose is unique on VRBO. We film nightscapes, and despite the light-pollution of LA nearby, the dark skies of Tehachapi were beautiful. We have a video that "You" can see on the "Tube" called Tehachapi Caboose if you want to see more of this beautiful rental. We loved the place and the hosts. This is really the ideal retreat for a couple who wants to get away from town. Thanks again Dan & Janine for your hospitality and great efforts making this rental so pleasurable!

Unique Experience
This is a wonderful place to stay with pretty views. So much care and attention has been put into transforming the caboose into a unique experience. The place is very clean, the bed so comfortable, and communication pleasurable. The large deck is an added bonus. Bring binoculars if you enjoy bird watching. Whether you are a train enthusiast or not make sure to visit the Tehachapi Loop.

Had a wonderful stay!
They did a great job of restoring this caboose and making it a great little getaway for those who love trains and want a cozy little place trackside to watch. So much interesting things to see and do around here, the caboose was filled with interesting pictures, books, and even a radio scanner to listen to the train crews. There was a beautiful deck to watch the trains passing by, and a comfortable bed to sleep in at night. We will definitely return!

Absolutely loved our stay here and will be back!
They did an amazing job rennovating this caboose into a cozy get away. The location is incredible with the view of the mountains, passing trains, and wildlife. Everything was above and beyond our expectations. While the caboose puts you just far away from everything for a nice retreat but all the shops and restaurants in town were just a short drive away. My family had an awesome time staying here and we cant recommend it enough. We will definitely be back in the summer!

The definition of perfection
What an exceptional restoration of this caboose. Everything you can want/need is put into this build with love, sweat, and dedication. I can’t express how thankful I am to the owners for letting the public share this once in a lifetime experience. I have never stayed in a caboose until now. It has a full bathroom, shower, kitchen, dining table, sleeping for 4. The views are immaculate, the trains are awesome if you are a Railfan. And when all the doors and windows close you can’t really hear the horn if you want some shuteye. So that is a bonus. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for something different, fun, adventurous, and not in a boring basic hotel. 5 stars.
