Thailand Holiday Packages
Located in Southern Asia and reaching into the Andaman Sea, Thailand is rich in history and natural beauty, from the mountain temples of Chiang Rai Province to the beaches of Krabi.
Whether you’re in big-city Bangkok or the islands of Koh Samui and Phuket, Thailand is home to globally adored cuisine, gorgeous beaches and warm hospitality. This may be a pretty big destination to see in one trip, but Wotif’s Thailand holiday packages will help you visit all the top cities and sites on your travel wish list.
Things to Do in Thailand
Holidays to Thailand are filled with new sights, flavours and experiences in the midst of a peace-loving, predominantly Buddhist environment. Take your time visiting Chiang Rai’s White Temple in the northernmost province—there’s no rush. While you’re up north, look out over the Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet. Closer to Bangkok, spend a day—or two—at Ayutthaya Historical Park, within walking distance to many gorgeous temples near Chao Phraya River. When you’re ready to see the capital city, book one of Wotif’s car hire options in Bangkok and start weaving through the colourful streets to the Temple of the Reclining Buddha and the Grand Palace in city centre. There’s enough to do in Bangkok to fill Thailand holidays to the brim, but you need to get out to Phuket and Koh Samui, too. On the islands, catch a local festival or full-moon party and be as lazy as your heart desires on the many beaches.
Shopping, Dining & Nightlife
“The Land of Smiles” is no stranger to modern shopping malls, like Bangkok’s famous MBK. While you’re hunting for authentic Thailand deals without queues of other tourists, head 90 km southwest of Bangkok to the Amphawa Floating Market. If you’re more of a landlubber and a night owl, scoop up some great finds at JJ Green Market, an open-air shopping and eating destination in Bangkok right next to the sprawling Chatuchak Weekend Market.
If you can’t find something to eat here, you’re doing Thailand holidays wrong. Each region varies in its culinary favourites, but you’re likely to find eats that meet lots of dietary needs, including vegetarian and gluten-free. Try the Som-Tam, a spicy papaya salad, creamy massaman curry—a specialty in Central Thailand—and anything else you can stuff in your face.
After dark, you can find a bumping nightlife in any big city, but the two big hitters are Bangkok and Phuket. In the former, explore discotheques, dance shows, concerts and a whole lot of neon lights. Down on the island of Phuket, the nightlife is laid-back and slightly sandy, with the main club scene on Patong Beach.
