Detached 16th Century, Centrally Heated Cottage with Private Pool

Our comfortable detached cottage is perfect for a relaxing, countryside holiday in summer or winter. We have an outdoor pool for the summer and central heating & a wood burner for the winter months. We are in a quiet rural location with excellent views over open country. The house is sited within a 3.5 acre plot with over 1 acre dedicated to the gite. Whilst we are 5 minutes drive from the local shops we are just a few minutes from the main highways with easy access to Laval and Le Mans which are just half an hour away. There are many excellent local restaurants, Debra and David will be happy to give you directions to these and all the local attractions upon your arrival. The garden, pool, children's play area, summer house, patio and BBQ are for the exclusive use of our guests. If booking for Christmas a free bottle of champagne is included in your welcome pack.

A haven with great hosts
Debra and David were great hosts, from the communications prior to our arrival to the meet and greet when they showed us everything we needed to know before leaving us to enjoy our lovely corner of France. Our younger boys loved the play-park equipment and our older son loved the 'office chair' which was his area when they werent all in the splash pool. enjoyed some great days out to Les Mans 24hour musee and the local caves. Thank you. Highly Recommend!

Just what we needed
We’ve just got back from a week at this lovely cottage. Debra and David have a gorgeous place, very relaxing, we felt at home right away. The cottage is well equipped, Debra has really thought of everything. All cleaning products are provided which is refreshing, we’ve been to many gites where the first thing you have to do is shop for washing up liquid!! There is an English socket bank so you can charge all your electrical items, a Nespresso machine, two hairdryers, and a basket of toiletries that others have ‘left behind’ so if you’ve forgotten something it’s likely to be there! The beds are comfy and the sheets a fabulous cotton. Should it get colder at night there are blankets in every cupboard. The cottage itself is quite isolated which means a fantastic nights sleep, there’s no light and no sound until a local cockerel sings and you get used to him quite quickly. The villages around are beautiful and many hours can be spent pottering. Debra has lots of local knowledge so was able help us with places to go and see which was very useful. There is a lake down the road with otters which was special. The swimming pool at the cottage is beautifully maintained by David and reaches a good temperature using a clever solar cover. There are lots of inflatables and balls to play with. Dotted around the garden are several chairs so you can hide away or chase the sun. The VIP shed is a lovely idea for cooler evenings so you can still eat outside and the dart board on the side became one of my sons favourite things, I’m sure we will have one soon :-) There was even an owl hunt for the children and a few local goodies as gifts on our arrival which were delicious. Thank you so much for a really lovely holiday.

Great stay, it really is a home from home
Debra and David are very helpful and welcoming, they did an Easter egg hunt for our children as we arrived on Good Friday which we all loved and was finding eggs for the rest of the holiday. La Bonne Marie is very comfortable and has everything you need for self catering accommodation and more, it felt like being at home. The outside area is great and safe for children and loads of room to run about and use of the large playground, the gardens are beautifully kept and I even spotted Owls at night! We didn’t use the pool as it was too cold (weather wise). There are plenty of sun traps to relax in with sun loungers. Again there are loads of outdoor games for adults and children. Inside the La Bonne Marie there are DVDs, English TV, loads of tourists information and an informative welcome pack. We had a great stay and would recommend it.

Lovely stay
We had al lovely stay at the cottage. We arrived when all stores were closed. Luckily Debra informed us about that and already did some shopping for us, which was very kind. The cottage is very complete and the beds are perfect. Our children had a lot of fun playing in the pool and the playground

Heerlijke plek, rust privacy, mega tuin
Prachtige locatie, niet ver van supermarkten, kasteel-dorpjes en cafetaria/restaurants maar toch apart en rustig. Veel privacy en een heerlijk groot privé zwembad dat erg goed wordt bijgehouden. De eigenaren wonen vlakbij en zijn bij vragen per whatsapp te bereiken en zijn er als het nodig is. Ze onderhouden ook de tuin en het zwembad. De gastvrijheid en bereidwilligheid is enorm. De enorme tuin is zeer hond vriendelijk en het huisje heeft een muur van bijna een meter dik, lekker koel op een hete dag. Wij hebben er een geweldige 2 weken doorgebracht.

Geweldige cottage met karakter..
We hebben genoten van de cottage, veel karakter, oude balken. Geweldige tuin ( helemaal omheind). Ideaal voor onze hond. Die had het erg naar haar zin en kon gewoon lekker naar buiten in de tuin. Mooi groot zwembad , prachtig gelegen op het franse platteland. helaas werkte het weer niet mee. Maar tot paar dagen lekker in het zwembad geweest. Debra en David zijn gastvrij , geven informatie en tips over de omgeving en wat je kunt doen. We gaan zeker terug..

Juste parfait!

Une vraie perle dans un écrin de verdure
Il est des endroits si rares que l'on aimerait les conserver que pour soi. Mais ce ne serait pas en l'espèce rendre service et justice à Debra et David WORBOYS qui ont fait de ce cottage du 16ième siècle un si bel et si accueillant endroit. Dès l'accueil d'une grande gentillesse on sait que l'on va passer un très agréable séjour et les attentions préparées par Debra confirme la sensation. Il y aurait encore beaucoup à dire mais le mieux est que chacun, à la recherche d'un havre de tranquillité et de confort, vienne profiter de cet endroit.

Un petit havre de paix grand confort
Un gîte du XVe très bien rénové, avec goût. Tout le confort et des équipements complets. Un très grand et beau jardin très bien entretenus et complètement clôturé. Un VIP lounge extérieur très apprécié pour dîner le soir à la bougie avec chauffage électrique. Une piscine au top, bien entretenue et conservée à température (24-25). Une aire de jeux très appréciée, des fléchettes, Molky, DVD, etc ... et Debra : très gentille, très attentionnée, discrète. Merci Debra pour cette très belle semaine, mieux qu'à la maison. Nous recommandons vivement et reviendrons sans aucun doute.

Séjour très agréable au calme bercé par le chant des oiseaux. Debra est à l'écoute et aux petits soins tout en restant discrète pour préserver notre intimité. Nous avons bien profité de la piscine privée car c'était la semaine de canicule, et avons eu le plaisir de retrouver chaque jour une maison fraîche (les avantages d'une construction ancienne aux murs épais) Les enfants ont aussi beaucoup apprécié l'aire de jeux Nous espérons revenir bientôt Virginie

Charmant séjour
Nous avons passé quelques jours très agréables dans cette maison atypique. Le jardin est particulièrement accueillant pour les petits avec une multitude de jeux à disposition mais aussi pour les grands puisque des petits coins repos sont aménagés en différents endroits. Les propriétaires sont chaleureux et à l'écoute tout en restant discrets.
