The hotel was unique with spacious rooms and washrooms, high ceilings and fantastic views. It may seem like a simple thing but the automatic opening doors were very handy when trying to carry in crates while also trying to manage dogs. There is a grocery store near by and fridges in the room.

This hotel is just a beautiful property. My room, a corner room with king bed, was spacious and lovely, with views of the lake. I was sorry to leave and will definitely be back.

We love the Courthouse hotel. This is our 2nd extended stay. The first night there was a boiler issue which caused the room to be on the cool side until the boiler was fixed the next day. We were offered extra blankets but fell asleep before they showed up. Other than that, we enjoyed our time in this hotel. Breakfast was great each morning.

Our room had a great view of Lake Superior and was very spacious. Continental breakfast was nice, average food choices. We were unable to adjust the temperature in our room.

The bathroom was not clean, there was hair in the shower upon check-in. Only 1 bathrobe, in a double occupancy. 1st night the cleaning crew ran a big floor polisher at 12:30am. Banging and clanging mop buckets and talking right outside our door. Not impressed. No laundry. Will not return.

Don’t stay here in the winter
Room is super cold. Heating not working, I set the temperature at 99’f but it only go as high as 65’f, that was only 18’c!! Talked to the front desk right away and was giving a portable heater to get through the night, and was hoping to get a permanent solution for the next day of stay, but nothing happened , even tho we were promised that the management will looking into it and compensate us for the two nights.

very nice rooms and relatively quite although someone on the 3rd floor above us was having a good time. Another guest mentioned the same thing. Breakfast is good, coffee is good. Thunder Bay is a cool city

Amazing building. Tv did not work no heat in room 3 people after 2 hr wait tried to fix tv. Didn’t work. No satellite breakfast staff overwhelmed. No help , all tables dirty and not cleaned up

This is a wonderful conversion of a courthouse to hotel. The rooms were inviting modern good beds and kept the beautiful original grandeur of a stately courthouse. The woodwork and views of the harbor and the Sleeping Giant Mesa were incredible. A wonderful place to stay

The building is beautiful but it is poorly run. Checkin was very bad with the hotel not acknowledging the fact that I had prepaid through Expedia. I had to contact Expedia to get them to contact the hotel and reverse the duplicate charge. I had booked a king size room with sofa bed. They gave me a regular room which was far too small for two people. Inadequate number of towels. Only one robe. Clogged sink. Not worth the price they charge.
