Our wonderful surroundings
Calderdale is a walker and biker's paradise. Whether you're a roadie or a mountaineer there are endless trails and routes to explore through forests and across moors.
You won't run dry of amazing sights to see in this place with its rich history and terrain.
From the house its a 1 mile hike up to Gaddins Dam reservoir where you can take a dip at 'Britain's highest beach.'
Walk or cycle the Penine Bridle Way over to Stoodley Pike or catch a local bus to Hebden Bridge and stroll about the arty shops and cafes.
Catch a steam train to Keighley and discover the home of the Bronte sisters in the quaint town of Haworth or take a short drive or bus ride to Hardcastle Crags, The Bride Stones or one of the many local reservoirs.
If you fancy a day of shopping you can hop on the train into Manchester and indulge in the trendy delights of Britain's second largest city and still return to the quiet country retreat.
Your space
Your accommodation is the ground level of the converted barn which retains the natural features of exposed stonework and deep set windows.
Thick Yorkshire stone walls make it both a cosy retreat in the winter and cool and refreshing one in the warmer months.
The entire space is newly renovated and designed for complete convenience and comfort.
We've done a bit of globe-trotting ourselves so the decor conveys a hint of a few of our wanderlust adventures.
We - Andy, Crystal, Reuben (5) and Delancey (3) - live in the main house which is connected to the barn, however the barn is completely private with its own entrance and is yours to relax in while you are here.

The accommodation is clean, comfortable and stylishly decorated. Although our stay was over a very wet and windy weekend, it was warm and cosy in the apartment. Tod town centre is within a 20 minute walk. Walsden station, which provides connections to both Manchester and Leeds. Crystal was friendly and approachable and quick to respond to any questions we raised before and during our visit. We look forward to returning. Thomas

Crystal and Andy's place is really comfortable and pleasant, surrounded by some beautiful scenery. We stayed for a couple of nights in January traveling to a funeral in the area. Having lost a family member, my partner and I were both quite rattled and our hosts were super kind and understanding, happy to do everything contact free (when I got the feeling they usually give a big, warm welcome!), communicated really well and were all-round great hosts. The apartment was a very nice size, with a well equipped kitchen adjoining a comfortable living room - the big double doors on one end would definitely be great on sunny days! The bedroom was good and comfortable, and all you needed for a relaxing stay. We didn't have much of a chance to explore the surrounds, but did make one short stroll up the path behind the farm to the top of the hill and it was beautiful - it's incredible how you go from being in the village to what feels like proper wilderness almost instantaneously. I'm looking forward to hopefully visiting again under different circumstances so I can properly explore. Thanks for a lovely stay, Crystal & Andy! Simon
