No 4 Wheel Drive needed here - we have year round easy access! We are located 100 yards up a gentle gravel incline off scenic Wayah Road, a paved state maintained road. Our 20ā€™ x 20ā€™ boat dock and viewing deck are less than 1/4 mile away. Bring your boat or rent one here and leave it, along with all of your water toys, at the dock!

Experience total privacy, including no contact self check-in, at the immaculate cabin. We are ensuring the health and well being of each guest by following CDC Guidelines to disinfect and sanitize with an EPA approved cleaner all hard surfaces, door knobs, remote controls, faucets, cabinet pulls and other areas in order to protect against COVID 19. Rest assured, unlike a hotel or resort, this is our personal home and we take pride in our high standard of hygiene for ourselves and our guests.

The seclusion of this mountain retreat with new hot tub and amazing views of Lake Nantahala and the Smoky Mountains makes this home a great spot for gathering friends and family. This log cabin sleeps 8 in luxury bedding: king master bedroom on the main level, 2 queen bedrooms with spectacular views on the lower level, and queen bed in the open loft with breathtaking lake views. This getaway includes a main level open floor plan with great room, stone fireplace with gas logs, handcrafted dining table and airy kitchen. Enjoy the queen loft which looks out two stories of windows to the lake and Smoky Mountains. Have movie night in the second den on the lower level. Both living areas feature flat screen TVā€™s with DishTV programming as well as the King bedroom. Additional amenities include a new hot tub with spectacular views installed in August 2020, connected gas grill, internet, landline telephone, well stocked kitchen, and laundry room. Relax with coffee or cocktails from the two expansive decks overlooking the lake or sit around the firepit for S'mores and more! Everything is included, just come to relax, enjoy the views and cool weather. Or of course, be as active as you like while white water rafting, hiking and boating in the wonderful outdoors surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest, Appalachian Trail, Bartram Trail, Lake Nantahala and Nantahala River!

Conveniently located just off Wayah Road in Topton, NC, we are easily accessed even in inclement weather. The new pier at Rocky Creek Boat ramp is a short 5 minute walk from the house and is perfect for fishing! With a boat ramp into Lake Nantahala around the corner and boat rentals just down the street, getting on the water is no problem! For the more adventurous, there's an abundance of nearby white water outfitters. The Nantahala River is 15 minutes from the cabin and offers championship fly fishing. Weā€™re 19 miles from The Nantahala Outdoor Center and only 12 miles from their whitewater rafting launch site! This is a great location to use as home base while taking day trips all around Western North Carolina.....the options are truly endless!

Lake View Dreaming
This cabin was exactly what we needed and were looking for over the Thanksgiving holiday. The cool mountain air, stillness of Nantahala Lake, and quiet of the woods as exactly what we wanted. We enjoyed hanging out in the hot tub at least once a day everyday. (One of the cleanest and not over chlorinated hot tubs weā€™ve ever encountered at other rentals). Kathy was super communicative and very clear with all instructions. The lack of reception is not a joke, but the WiFi was great and I had no issues working remotely during my stay. Would definitely recommend and come back again!

Every moment was magical! BEAUTIFUL VIEW of the lake and mountains. The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed. Instructions and recommendations were detailed and helpful. The light-up hot tub was fun and relaxing. Took a trip to Bryson City for lunch and ice-cream. We visited the beef jerky store and stocked up! Definitely on my list to go back and experience more mountain life like hiking, horseback riding and white water rafting! Big thanks to our gracious hostess!

Slice of Paradise
This home is just breathtaking, we could not believe our eyes when we walked in. The photos could never do it justice, it is the most beautiful cabin we have ever seen and we cannot even describe the VIEW. We got lucky with sporadic periods of rain that made the mountains extra ā€œsmokyā€ and everything looked surreal! The inside of the home was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. The drive up to the cabin is well maintained and does not require AWD, we were able to drive up and down even with the rain in our FWD vehicle with no issues. Our only regret is not staying longer, just WOW!! Thank you for sharing this slice of paradise with us and we look forward to be back one day for a longer stay.

That View!
Great property. Excellent stay. The view! The only negative is that the air conditioner did not cool the upper level so it was very warm during our stay given the open floor plan and many windows that provide the million dollar view. May not be an issue at all most months, but with the hot, humid spell we are experiencing, it was not ideal. I would totally stay at Bearā€™s Liar again. It is very well done and comfortable.

Loved our stay in this cabin! We would definitely stay again if we could! Our family made wonderful memories here and at the Nantahala wedding venue where our daughter got married last weekend! The dock was perfect for all our family members and pontoons! The cabin was spacious, clean, and convenient to the venue! The views are simply AMAZING!!! Our daughter was getting married at Nantahala Weddings. We wanted to be close. Can't get much closer than this property. Very clean, well appointed, and failry easy access. Ample.parking once up the hill. No cell coverage and the internet is spotty. Who needs it! Enjpy the view and the got tub instead. Owners were very nice and easy to contact. Just rent it and enjoy

Beautiful property that met all expectations. The view and home layout are the best we've seen in over 5 trips to the NC Mountains. Owner was responsive and helpful. Perfect Family Stay
The owners were so accommodating since the moment we arrived at the property. People like this are hard to come by nowadays. Everything was clean, neat and in order! Everything that you needed was already in the Vrbo description so it was very helpful! The view was phenomenal, the lower and upper decks were absolutely stunning, the firepit area was perfect. The private dock right down the street was great and everybody enjoyed it. If you have younger kids coming to this property, just be aware that the driveway and drop off by the drive is only divided by a small wooden fence, so you have to make sure kids are watched at ALL TIMES. Our stay was great so thank you for having us! :)

The best cabin for a group!
We had such an incredible time at this cabin we hardly wanted to leave! We were provided with many resources and very thorough instructions. We loved the bear theme through the house and we felt right at home! Canā€™t recommend this place enough. 10/10!!

Beautiful, clean home with lots of amenities and gorgeous views of the lake. We spent a lot of time on the deck taking pics of the lake and surrounding mountains and lots more time on the private dock kayaking, boating, taking more amazing pics, and just hanging out as a family. Highly recommend. The property owner was wonderful and always responded quickly to questions, Added plus was the property had wifi (which we didn't use much because we were out and about) and the driveway and parking situation was much better than most properties we've visited and seen in Nantahala.

Perfect for wedding party
We had a wedding nearby and this house was the perfect location for some of the wedding party. Itā€™s one of the closestz to the venue, easy to get to, and has plenty of parking. Being on a mountain, many of the houses and driveways are very steep to drive to. But this was perfect.
