The Muntham Apartments are in the leafy residential area of Wellswood which is just a five minute drive from the harbour and town centre. The centre of Wellswood is Ilsham Road which is a five minute walk from the apartments. Locals know it as Wellswood Village. Here you will find a pub, bistro, delicatessen, cafes, pharmacy, beauty salons and much, much more. Just beyond the shopping area is Kent's Cavern, a World Heritage site where the earliest human remains in north west Europe have been found.
The apartments also benefit from excellent public transport links. These include an intensive bus network that serves the whole of The English Riviera ( such as the towns of Babbacombe, St Marychurch, Paignton and Brixham) as well as places slightly further afield such as Dartmouth, Totnes, Teignmouth, Dawlish and the cities of Plymouth and Exeter.
The Muntham Apartments are formed from one of Torquay's grand old Victorian villas which was originally built for a man who was a member of Parliament for the area. It has retained lots of its original features but has also successfully managed to accommodate apartments that meet the needs of modern visitors. Guests now have access to EV charging points located in the car park.
Apartment 4 is on the first floor of the building and overlooks the front of the property and has a southerly aspect meaning it is wonderfully light and bright. The apartment is accessed via the grand staircase and the hallways with their ornate plaster work.
The apartment underwent a complete refit in June and July 2020 and now has a superb open plan living space with wooden flooring. It has been furnished and decorated to give a mid century retro feel whilst also having the occasional nod to the Victorian heritage of the wonderful building within which the apartment sits.
It has a sitting room with sofa and dining area. It has a modern flat screened SMART TV. Free full fibre broadband WIFI is available to all guests.
There is a modern well equipped kitchen with a full sized oven and hob, microwave, large fridge freezer and coffee machine and a dishwasher. We supply guests with a complimentary welcome pack of teas and coffees.
There is also a closet with plenty of hanging space The apartment also features a newly refitted shower room with large shower enclosure for added ease of use and comfort. A complimentary welcome pack of toiletries is included.
Then there is the romantic tower bedroom which features a luxury king sized bed with pocket sprung mattress as well as a DAB radio. All linen and towels are included in the rate and for guests staying 7 nights or more a complimentary full linen and towel change is offered.
Guests have access to a communal laundry room with coin operated washers and dryers. We supply detergent free of charge. There is also an iron and ironing board there too.
Surrounding the property is nearly one acre of gardens. In the summer months guests are able to make use of garden sofas and chairs and sun loungers.
We accept one dog in this apartment. It must be 12 months or older and must never be left unattended in the property. There is a charge of £10 per night for a dog. This will be added to the value of the booking prior to arrival.
