Early closure of reception without adequate notice
I've stayed here before without any issues. Unfortunately that wasn't the case for my last visit.
The hotel states that the reception closes at midnight - if you're going to be later to contact them for the code to get the keys. This has worked well for me in the past when I've had a late flight .
On this occasion my flight arrived at Malaga about 7.45pm so I knew I would make it to reception with plenty of time. I arrived at the hotel at around 8.30pm. The front door was locked but I was soon greeted by a rude overweight grumpy gentleman ranting on to me that reception was closed. I was in no mood for a confrontation about their reception times so gratefully accepted my room keys and went up to my room .
Later that evening I logged into my emails and discovered an email sent that day at 3pm from the hotel telling me the reception would close at 8pm instead of midnight . My issue with this is, if you're on a flight you're not going to have access to your emails or you might be someone that doesnt have access to the internet whilst travelling. It is unacceptable to change your reception opening times at such short notice. I appreciate someone was there to let me in but it was clear to me the attitude of the staff member was hostile
& rude because he thought I was in the wrong. This adds insult to injury.
Also, the tv didnt work, cold shower & there was smoke coming from another room which was unpleasant for a non smoker. Went down to reception to report but no one there.
The staff/ owners .. Successfully managed to rip me off for 1 night's stay. I would really like to say The Malaga Inn had a stranded persons interest at heart, but in Truth? .. if it wasn't for ebookers EXCEPTIONAL services .. I would be in a world of Hell (still am but only 3 nights to survive and I'll be flying home)
The "lady" I was talking to (at same time as re booking 2 more nights via you) was trying to tell me the only "Available Rooms" were the most expensive
She almost fainted & definitely changed colour as I watched her receive & read the invoice & booking number for an extra 2 nights .. as she was lying to my face!
I understand if it is probably not in your remit to contact them in a "complaints procedure" way
They NEED to be either excluded from your suggestions or reminded that if it wasn't for your recommendations, they would be dead in the water (so to speak)

Staff tried to be helpful. 24/7 desk is a good idea. Parking was not available just because other guests parking way was unacceptable ( they didn't leave enough space). The room was very simple but clean, our bed was very uncomfortable, street nearby very noisy.
