This oceanfront property was built by the owners with tender loving care. The cottage boasts pine cathedral ceilings, pine doors and trim, pine kitchen cabinets complete with dishwater and hardwood flooring. The eight foot long pine table built by the owner is perfect for enjoying meals from the barbeque. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has a double bed. The private patio overlooks the Witless Bay Seabird Ecological Reserve, home to puffins, kittiwakes and other species. Watch the whales from the patio.

Comfort in St. Michael’s
We enjoyed four days in this comfortable home with the best beds and night’s sleeps. It turned out to be the perfect location for what we wanted to do. We did day trips and all not more than an hour away. We hiked several parts of the east coast trail, drove down to Ferryland, Mistaken Point and Cape Race then drove north to Bell Island for the best day. It was great to come home to this lovely home at the end of the day.

Simply lovely!
Full disclosure: This is our first time using VRBO. Based on a wonderful experince, it won't be our last! Naturally, the photos includedin the description, drove our decision to stay here. Being skeptics, we assumed the pictures would have exaggerated the positive and hidden the problems. Nope! This home is even better than the pictures! All of our communications with the owner were responded to, almost immediately. We're here a little late in "the season" but enjoyed day trips up and down the East coast of the Avalon Penninsula. A local fisherman gifted us with several pounds of freshly caught and cleaned Cod. It was so great to be able to come home and cook it ourselves! Thank you Boyd and Yvonne for a WONDERFUL experience!

A little piece of heaven!
We arrived to a beautiful and immaculate property on the ocean. It was exactly as described, The house was well appointed, The beds were extremely comfortable and all the amenities were perfect. The washer and dryer and dishwasher worked without a hitch. The view from the deck was lovely and private. We couldn't have been happier, The area is lovely.The people are so friendly. The cottage it was more than we could have imagined. Although we did not get to meet the hosts, we did have contact with them very quickly as needed. Would go back in a heartbeat. Can't say enough about the area, The hosts, and Newfoundland.

This cottage and location are second to none! Beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and furniture. The hosts supplied all the kitchen staples including coffee pods! The view from the deck was breathtaking and the location handy to many sites. Communication easy and prompt. Very enjoyable !

Great location and proximity for local activities No closets could use more hooks and hangers. Great view from all living areas. Water has sulphuric taste and smell. Good kitchen and well stocked. Would recommend it.

My wife and I, along with our adult son, enjoyed our entire stay in this very comfortable and wonderfully decorated home. All of the necessities required were on hand, the home is very clean and comfortable and the ocean view is truly fantastic. I strongly recommend this cottage and would gladly stay again.

Down sides.
Million dollar view was hampered by tall trees. Very deceiving. No closets, hangers, hooks or drawers (already full), to store our clothing. No practical hooks in the bathroom. Miniscule counter space in bathroom (a shelf would be welcomed). With the window in the main bedroom facing the road we were disturbed early in the morning (6am) by traffic noise (trucks, trailers, quads, etc.). Mattress sagged considerably in the middle.

This house is the perfect place to stay when visiting the Irish Loop of the Avalon peninsula. Whales are visible in season right from the back porch! There is easy access to the East Coast Trail, as well as Boat excursions to the Witless Bay Bird Sanctuary. The house is fully equipped with kitchen amenities to allow for cooking on site. It is a private little paradise.

The house was very clean and comfortable but there were a few things worth noting that if remedied, would create an absolutely amazing stay. There were a few treetops removed to give a partial view of the ocean but if more tree tops were removed, then there would definitely be a million dollar view. Upon entering the house, there is a musty smell coming up from the basement. The smell of the tap water was putrid- it smelled very strong of sulphur and should be treated.

Living like a Newfoundlander
First of all, I can't say enough about how wonderful the property manager was/is. We were even provided a very extensive list of suggestions on things to do and places to visit while we were there. The beds were very comfortable, the deck provided a sublime area to listen to the ocean and hear and see the seabirds and the large window in the living area had a section that opened, so we heard the ocean and birds all day long (when we were there). I was in heaven! Because i like Newfoundland so much, I do plan on returning one day and I would certainly stay here again.

Saw Whales Every Day
After 3 years of trying to get to Newfoundland, we finally did it and it was spectacular. This cottage is close enough to St.Johns that we could easily make day trips, but far enough that we could only hear the waves at night. We saw whales every day of our trip, BBQd steak on the deck, and visited all of the recommended restaurants. Thank you very much Yvonne and Boyd for providing this home away from home, our one and only regret was the weather was so great we never once got to see a storm roll through from the huge living room windows!

Great place.
It is a well appointed with nice linens and towels.You get a sense of relaxation upon entering. It feels spacious and airy. A great feature is downtown is walking distance. And the best for last the host Rob is wonderful. His dedication to make sure you have the best time with no issues is unusual. Come and stay here. It was delightful.

Right at home
We were in Newfoundland for the May long weekend. We wanted somewhere comfortable and private with a lovely view. We don't get to see the ocean very often. Everything about our stay was excellent. Yvonne and Boyd were very easy to work with and made sure everything was taken care of and explained to us in great detail. We would stay in their beautiful cottage again in a heartbeat. Beautiful place, amazing views
We stayed at the cottage for 4 amazing nights and were mesmerized by the view and sound of the waves. The cottage itself is beautiful, and so well appointed. Everything we needed was there, including coffee and spices when we did our own cooking. We felt very much at home and enjoyed every minute. There is so much to do and see close by as well! Hiking, iceberg watching and meandering around the small towns nearby. I would highly recommend this place for a stay in Newfoundland ❤️

Stunning view!
We had a marvelous time and Yvonne and Boyd's lovely cottage. The views from the deck, and even the kitchen window as we rinsed dishes, were stunning. Saw a whale swim by our first morning! Yvonne was so helpful and kind, offering many suggestions and was easy to get ahold of whenever I had any questions. The rooms were comfortable and perfect for our family of 3 (although 4 people can easily be comfortable too). The cottage was in an excellent location from which to explore the Irish Loop and St.John's. So many lovely places to hike close by as well. We loved our stay and would definitely book it again. Thank you Yvonne and Boyd for everything!
