The property was away from most of the other area but that is one of the things I liked about it. It was very quiet and peaceful. Most of the time I had the outdoor bath to myself which was relaxing. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. One male employee helped me open a creamer for my coffee as I had just gotten my nails done and tried not to ruin them. It was a 8 to 10 min walk to restaurants or they have a shuttle and can make reservations for you. I will be back!

A wonderful place to stay while visiting a charming onsen town. Hospitality of the staff is superb, and shuttle service provides easy access to the public baths in town. My room was very clean and comfortable but I did not like the pillow I had with my futon. Dining experience was also terrific. I had a snow crab dinner and it was very excellent. Overall, I loved staying here so much that I would want to visit Kinosakionsen again in the future primarily to stay in Suishoen again.

Love the outdoor onsen and the garden view from my room. Dinner was memorable, especially the kinosaki snow crab. Our server was a bubbly girl who gave us descriptive explanations of the food we were eating. Pity we didn’t get her name.

Wonderful stay! Very pretty property, roughly 10 min walk from center of town. Management was very friendly, had plenty of amenities, and gave us a room with a nice view of the garden. Dinner and breakfast was fantastic, although a bit more than we could comfortably eat. Wish we could have stayed more than one night!

Maybe have more signs in English and breakfast with jam and coffee available. Nice if can provide more selection on locally sourced fish fillets for kaizeki dinners
Tasty sauce but fish fillet would be better than fish head served for kaizeki meal to foreigners

Kinosaki Onsen was lovely and ryoka was perfect
It was beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable. The Onsen at the hotel was my favorite and even had outdoor bath. The staff were so welcoming and attentive. I was able to have an in-room massage which was a highlight. The tatami mats and traditional futon were very comfortable. The breakfast was luxurious and worth the price. I appreciated the shuttle that picked me up from town.

Lovely riyokan- staff were very attentive, sweet, and gracious. The kaiseki dining was exquisite and a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, even when my suitcase fell apart and I needed assistance.

Attendant was extremely helpful upon arrival even with language barrier. Yukata were brought up after arrival , so they were chosen to size (not assumed one size fits all). The room was spacious, beautiful and fully furnished. Our futons were laid out while we were strolling through the bath houses, and upon check out we were given a complimentary ride to the Kinosaki onsen ropeway. All around amazing experience. The only regret is that we didn't stay longer to enjoy all the onsite amenities. Would recommend to anyone wanting a lovely experience in Kinosaki.

Bautiful property. Very difficult to conversate with the staff, only speak very limited English. Difficult to get to, we arrived in the evining and did not receive trasportation information in a timely matter. Only limited time to spend at the onsen, and had to walk back to the hotel since we could not call the hotel bus. Huge construction on the road, so it was dangerous to walk back to the hotel in the dark. Onsen is very over rated. Personally I think there may be better option for non-Japanese travelers.

5/5 stars. Staff went above and beyond expectations. It was raining so hard the day we checked out and they offered us a ride to the train station. The front desk also helped us cancel our kimono reservation in Kyoto which was very helpful. Food was amazing. The room we stayed in was clean, spacious and beautiful. The facility is very beautiful. The hospitality of this hotel was too notch. We will definitely stay again

Luxury stay with 5 star food
The Ryokan was amazing from start to finish, they picked us up from the train station, dropped us back to town when required, the staff in charge of us spoke very good english and explained everything so well. The dinner experience was just amazing and felt like a luxury banquet with snow crab, great quality sashimi and finished off with wagyu cooked at the table in a hotpot. To cherry on top of the cake was when upon checkout the staff offered to bring our luggage to the train station where they have a place to keep it until 5pm, so we could enjoy our last day hiking around as well without the burden of luggage. Hope to return!

What a charming property with a beautiful onsen on-site. Even though there are 7 public baths taht are free to those staying their, our favorite was right at the hotel. The property is a little bit out of town, very walkable except while we were there, there was construction on the road leading to it, making it slightly dangerous to walk at night. But the hotel offers a free shuttle and the staff is very accommodating. Love this little jewel.

The ryokan experience was terrific. The hotel staff patiently and enthusiastically showed us around the hotel and explained to us the necessary (transport from hotel to the different public onsen, wearing a yukata, shopping & dining options). The kaiseki dinner was amazing and service was great.

Not worth the price
For the price point, it was okay. Nothing bad at all, but (a) English was quite bad with most staff and (b) VERY inflexible. For instance, they are located far away from the onsens. On a cold rainy day, i wanted to go to one at a certain time. It turned out to be 10 minutes before the "scheduled" window for on-demand transfers. The drivers were standing around and smoking. The reservationist just told me to walk in the rain or to wait. Not the end of the world, but one of many things that made me feel it is not worth the price.

Relaxation destination
It was wonderful. So relaxing and the customer service was impeccable. However there was a slight smell in the rooms that were uncomfortable to sleep in. I'm assuming it was the tattaki mats since they are made of grass.
