Nice & comfortable
Our stay was nice and everything was clean. There was no shower curtain and when we finally went to the office because no one was answering the phone, they gladly gave us one and stated the phones don’t work. It was nice that you could enter your room from the outside or inside the hallway. Breakfast wasn’t the best but not bad. Juice machine didn’t work but they had apple juice in a pitcher. Nice, quiet town.

Smelly experience
Traveling solo i was disappointed in the location and sketchy parking. I noticed a person looking into cars. Not very reassuring. Also the woman and man at the front desk looked less than casual and not very friendly however the worst for me was their cleanliness as entering the lobby all i could smell was BO. sorry to say both looked very unkempt.

We had 2 rooms for 2 nights. We were in the area working. After an extremely long day, when we went to get back into our rooms at 11:30 PM for the 2nd night, our card keys did not work. There was zero staff on hand to help us. There was no emergency number to call. The 1-800 phone number said we would have to wait until the staff arrived in the morning. There was no offer to help us with alternate accommodations. We got into a hotel across the street at 2:30 AM. However, all our belongings were still in the Days Inn. We contacted Wyndham and were told they would get back to us within 72 hours but 9 days later we had to contact them to get resolution. The resolution was 3000 membership points ($39 in value) which did not make us whole for the cost of 2 rooms we were locked out of. Mistakes happen but there needs to be a local emergency contact number to address these kinds of things. The hotel claims they have staff on-site 24/7 but this was not the case. The room itself was fine, but the lack of staff to assist was unforgivable.

Did not stay after seeing the motel & nearby area.
I was booking this while driving down the road and didn't realize it was a motel. And although it is pet friendly, there is no pet relief area, only the alley behind the motel or the sidewalk -both littered with broken glass and other garbage. When I sent a photo to my husband, he immediately booked a room elsewhere. It did not feel safe for me to stay alone with our dogs.

The entire town of Tucumcari is terrible. It’s all boarded up with derelict buildings. No place to eat. Dirty. And I did Not feel safe.

We arrived at the property at approximately 11:50 pm. I rang the bell several times (over 5 minutes) waiting in between rings. No one came. I then phoned the hotel, finally the attendant showed up, appeared to have just woke up. No apologies. Then she couldn’t find my reservation even with the reservation number. The reservation was for a king bed, which she said they were out. We were give 2 queens after an approximately 15 minutes wait and sent on our way with still no apology. Breakfast staff wasn’t very friendly either
