The area of the market town covers 145.53 square kilometers, of which 85.01 percent is forested. This represents one of the highest forest areas in Austria. The altitude of the community ranges between 400 m (Ausserfahrafeld) and the summit areas of the surrounding mountains, which reach up to 1400 m: Türnitzer Höger, Eibel and Tirolerkogel in the southwest of the valley, as well as Eisen - and Hohenstein in the north. Falkenschlucht natural monument: The Falkenschlucht is a beautiful, year-round water-bearing gorge with steep rock walls up to 100 m high. The length of the gorge is approx. 600 m, bottom width 6 to 20 m, walking time approx. 45 minutes. The way back can also be done via the forest road. The Innenebgrotte natural monument is located on the right before the entrance to the gorge. The grotto is 12m wide, 8m high and deep. A spring that has water all year round rises at a height of around 4m. The water rushes in free fall to the bottom of the cave. The area around the Falkenschlucht is an ancient initiation site with 3 magical circles. Especially at the Iron Gate you can feel the change in the earth's energy or measure it with a rod or pendulum. Visit the newly built natural swimming pool in town and enjoy a wonderful summer day in the pool with food and other leisure fun.
