Spring flowers are in bloom this minute - wisteria, French lavender, and rosemary. Photographers and explorers, families and lovers will escape their cares amid the solitude and beauty of trees, flowers, boulders, and caves. Imagine that you are in the Mediterranean and simultaneously on the Joshua Tree National Park. Chill out in a grove of fragrant cypresses and pines surrounded by giant outcroppings of stone. Plunge into a 36 ft. x 20 ft. x 6 ft deep saltwater pool with scents of jasmine, rosemary, and cypress. Cut roses, rosemary, Desert Bird of Paradise, Wisteria, Arizona Blue cypress, and French lavender to take home with you. The garden has wonderful fragrances unlike any other place in the desert. Hike right into the national park to see bobcats, hawks, owls, foxes, lizards, and Gambels quail. There are three bedrooms and a sofa sleeper in the living room which is good for one person, or a child. There are many cushions to make an additional pallet bed in the library. The kitchen is furnished for chefs. Cozy up on a carpet in our three-chamber cave over a wood fire. We provide a carpet to make the cave cozy. We like to host children who adore animals and explore caves.

Explore our Valley of the Moon caves and canyons immediately behind the house where you'll not see other hikers. Absolute privacy. Explore dramatic rock formations of the National Park without getting into your car. Ideas for hiking trails from the house directly into the park are provided during our tour upon your arrival. Villa dei Fiori is the home of a filmmaker and author who has created a haven for solitude and serenity. Bighorn sheep are often seen on the boulders over the house. Bring your your camera and binoculars. We provide pruners to cut fragrant rosemary, French lavender, Carolina jasmine, and Arizona Blue cypress to take home.. Pruning shears are by the kitchen door and we have many vases for making bouquets. Rejuvenate at Villa dei Fiori with aroma therapy and tranquility.

The pool is open 12 months of the year but the best swimming time begins in April and May and lasts through mid-October, after which time it begins to cool down due to falling night time temperatures. Joshua Tree is often 12 degrees cooler than Palm Springs. The hot spa heats to 104 degrees. The propane barbecue is on the kitchen terrace just 12 feet from the kitchen adjacent to the laundry room. Two dining terraces overlook the boulders and a Joshua Tree. You surrounded by the heavenly scent of Arizona Blue cypress, Desert Bird of Paradise, Tuscan rosemary and French lavender.

Really special stay
This gem of a rental is warm, decadent and so comfortable. Every living space celebrates the art of living. From the beautiful bed and bed frames to the landscaping, to the pool and all the outdoor set ups for little picnics and snacks. The house is full of books you will want to lose yourself in. The pool is so thoughtfully designed and tucked in the boulders. This is the kind of place that you want to keep a secret. We were myself, my husband, two daughters (5 and 6), my parents and my aunt (70). Everyone adored this place, and it met us where we all were. We didn't even have a need to go into the park, as we were surrounded by a private backyard of boulders and Joshua tree. The kids loved swimming in the pool every day--in March! and even dragged us in, which was surprisingly refreshing and delightful. Dale, the owner, is a magical human being who we were so lucky to get to spend time with. The stories he shared, both of his life and of this space, were part of the best memories we have. If you have the luxury to get to know him during your stay, there is no better souvenir to take from Joshua Tree. There is a 10-page agreement that comes with the rental. It is Dale's love letter to this special property. I loved reading it; I loved following all the rules, knowing that is what keeps it beautiful and allows us all to have really nice things. Highly recommend!

Villa dei Fiori is an absolute gem!
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be captivated by its beauty, and Dale, the wonderful host, ensures your stay is nothing short of fantastic. The location is perfect, the home is impeccably maintained, and the grounds are simply breathtaking! I would stay here again in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend it to friends and family. The villa has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. The kitchen is well-stocked, the sitting room is cozy, and the three bedrooms feature incredibly comfortable beds. Here are a few tips to make your stay even better: 1. Upon arrival, Dale gives a detailed, personal tour of the property, covering every little detail and answering any questions. My son and I loved learning about the villa’s unique features! However, the tour does take some time, so if you have dinner plans or need to run to the store after check-in, keep that in mind. (I didn’t, and let’s just say my husband got a little hangry!) 2. While there’s no traditional TV service, the villa has WiFi. We brought our Firestick, and while my husband and I enjoyed wine under the stars in the hot tub, our boys happily watched March Madness games inside. 3. Each bedroom sleeps two if sharing a bed. If you have extra guests planning to sleep in the living room (up to three more people), I’d recommend discussing sleeping arrangements with Dale ahead of time. The house interior is like a Paris apartment with the colors, artwork and lighting. The juxtaposition of that with the desert outside is a surprising delight. The many terraces are lovely. The pool area is better than a 5 star.resort

This property is great! Just as advertised, we took advantage of lounging by the pool, rock climbing, star watching and nice long walks. Just what we needed. Comfortable, private and beautiful retreat nestled into a ridge of desert boulders near JT entrances. Rock climbing, caves, pool/spa and a great library! Perfect Getaway Spot
My friends and I had a wonderful time staying at this property. Dale was very communicative and friendly and gave us a thorough tour of the house and property upon our arrival--it's clear that he has put a lot of work into it and is a steward of the land and a genuine appreciator of Joshua Tree's beauty. The kitchen is fully stocked, the beds are comfortable, the outdoor spaces are wonderful to spend time in. We even saw big horns during our stay! Very close to downtown Joshua Tree and not far from Twentynine Palms or Yucca Valley. If you're looking for a peaceful vacation in nature, this is the place for you.

Memorable stay at Villa dei Fiori
We spent a fantastic winter holiday at Villa dei Fiori. Our host Dale provided beautiful accommodations in all the inside and outside spaces. Dale also offered plenty of options for enjoying our time at Joshua Tree National Park and on his lovely property. My husband, our adult offspring and I enjoyed our meals outside on the veranda during the day and by fire on another veranda at night. Walking from the Villa, we hiked and bouldered in the park our first full day. It turned out to be a secluded hike during one of the busiest weeks in the park. Stargazing every evening from the hot spa proved relaxing after climbs and hikes in Joshua Tree. Orion rose from the rocks every night to point the way to the zodiac beyond. Some even enjoyed the pool during the day and cold plunges at night between soaks in the hot spa. The night we had a fire in the cave was magical - one of the highlights of our trip. Visible stars peeked through openings in the rocks as we enjoyed the crackling fire and stillness of the cave. After full days and nights, we found our beds delightfully comfortable as we drifted off to sleep. Every view inside the home and outside on the property offers beauty and artistry. The home includes a library of books with a tremendous range of topics, which Dale encourages his guests to enjoy. We are looking forward to returning to Villa dei Fiori and cannot wait to dance on the rooftop of Villa dei Fiori II nearing completion.Cathy W.

Wonderful property and host in Joshua Tree
Just had an amazing short vacation at Dales property in Joshua Tree. His landscaping is amazing, the pool is as spectacular as the pictures. So much better than staying in a hotel. Here you can sit in the Hot Tub and watch the stars for as long as you want, uninterrupted! Dale is a great host, and a very creative artist, which shows in his carefully crafted garden, which has unique film set props.

We rented this property for a getaway for my wifes birthday. We were looking to relax and we definitely found the place to do it. Dale has done a great job turning the grounds into a private & relaxing getaway nestled in the rocks. The grounds are great for hanging out by the pool to read, swim or take a nap in the hammock (which I did). Star gazing in the jacuzzi was fantastic and all the stores & restaraunts are 10/15min away. You can hike around right from the house & all the patios have a view. Perfect Desert Getaway!
We recently stayed at this desert rental, and it exceeded all my expectations! The property was beautifully maintained, with stunning views and all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was ideal for exploring nearby attractions and enjoying the tranquility of the desert. The host was incredibly responsive and provided excellent recommendations for local activities and dining. We especially loved the outdoor space for stargazing at night. Beautiful, Unique Oasis in the dessert
The villa was beautiful, spacious and unique. I wished we could have stayed longer than 1 full day because we didn’t even get to lounging poolside. We did enjoy exploring the caves, the wonderful hot tub under the stars, and even meeting the resident roadrunner who greeted us at breakfast. Dale is a spry young man who has lived a full life and is full of stories! He’s built something amazing here.

Profound property!
Life becomes rich when you stay in beautiful places and meet interesting people. If you’re a creative family and would like an experience that is not cookie cutter, you will enjoy this property! The location of the home situated adjacent to huge boulders was truly profound. Our seven-year-old daughter’s highlight was climbing the boulders and exploring the cave and of course swimming in the salt water pool. She said she wanted to stay and build a tiny home on the cliff overlooking the pool! We will cherish our experience in Joshua Tree. Vacation of a lifetime
A hidden gem amongst the boulders, Villa dei Fiori is a true majestic escape. We spent 4 amazing nights relaxing in the hot tub and gazing into an unforgettable canvas of shining stars. From the landscape and wildlife to the serenity and seclusion we could not have dreamed of a more rejuvenating or memorable vacation. Each morning, we had visits from many geckos and during the days we saw two roadrunners, multiple hummingbirds, some cute bats in the evening, and a few coyotes, and occasionally at night we heard an orchestra of howls when the moon came up. Best of all, on the last morning, we were treated to a rare sighting of a bobcat sitting atop the head of the George Washington rock. We enjoyed our time lounging pool side soaking up the sun as well as taking refreshing dips in the saltwater pool. You feel like the only people in the world when at the pool as you are surrounded by boulders and trees. Dale has done a FANTASTIC job with the property; the grounds are breathtaking. You can truly see he has put his love and hard work into every square inch of this property. We can’t wait to come back again. Thank you, Dale, for sharing your slice of heaven with us! Fun Facts: You are within 15 minutes from 2 of JTNP entrances; there is an awesome cave that you see when Dale shows you around; he will also tell you about the nearby hikes including one straight into the park; and there is an astounding assortment of books in the house along with gorgeous art and cool décor. Great Getaway from the City
The property is nestled against Joshua Tree National Park. It feels secluded but it is only a 10-minute drive to civilization. There are plenty of grocery stores, dining options and shops nearby. That said, you are far enough from the main highway to hear silence and enjoy the serenity of the night sky. The property is well kept, and the owner is very hospitable. He met us at the property and gave us a tour highlighting all the available amenities including showing us nearby hiking trails and how to access the on-property cave. He is available for questions and easy to get along with. I would definitely stay there again.

Desert Sanctuary
This was our third time at Dale's place, we love the solitude and the desert landscape. The rocks behind the house are a wonderful playground. Dale has done a great job of creating outdoor spaces for relaxing and socializing. The pool area is one of the most beautiful I have seen.

Amazing hiking getaway
Dale has an amazing property with great history. We loved the personal tour he gave upon arrival. Ask him about his career in the movies. We booked for 4 nights and went hiking 3 days including a hike right out the back of the property on the first day. This house is an obvious labor of love, well equipped, and a short drive from the amenities of town. Also, a short drive to one of the national park entrances. If hiking, check out Arch Rock and Eagle Cliff Mine (if your'e feeling adventurous). There is plenty to explore on the property as well as Rocky View LoopTrail that can be accessed from the back of the property in the park. We recommend this secluded unique home to anyone that wants to visit Joshua Tree National Park.

Comfortable getaway
We had a great time in Joshua Tree and felt very comfortable at Dale’s home. We built a fire several evenings and sat in the jacuzzi… wonderful! The house is a bit old fashioned and lovely with the art and books all around. Very private. The pool area is beautiful but it was too chilly for us to swim. Dale is a great guy!

Relaxing Joshua Tree Oasis
Property is in a beautiful location against the boulders of Joshua Tree. The pool and hot tub are set into the rocks as shown in the pictures. The house has all the amenities necessary for a trouble free and serene stay and the beds were very comfortable. Grocery stores and shops are a few minutes away, however, the property is far enough away to provide a tranquil, relaxing experience. Dale is a very interesting host and is available a short distance away to answer any questions. This was the perfect location for a family weekend.

U2/Joshua tree experience
Started with opening night of the U2 sphere residency, followed by a day in the Joshua Tree National Park. Found this cute place near the park with a wonderful backyard and on site hiking. Want to come back and stay longer!

Magical Joshua Tree Property
What more can I say that has not already been said? This property, and the owner, Dale, are truly special. Affectionately named Villa de Fiori, I first discovered this property a few years ago while searching for VRBO homes near National Parks. I am so glad I saved it as a favorite and finally decided to book it this summer. My husband and I have 6 children (aged 12 to 1.5 years old) and we travel a considerable amount. Villa de Fiori surpassed our expectations. This place is not only beautiful, it is magical. What makes it so? Villa de Fiori is a labor of love, inside and out; it reflects many years of time and energy devoted to fulfilling Dale’s vision for the property. We enjoyed visiting Joshua Tree Park and doing all sorts of things locally (a jeep tour, rock climbing, and star gazing), but mostly, we really enjoyed staying at Villa de Fiori. This is an eclectic, practical home filled with wonderful art, photos, and an extensive library. Guests will be happy to find a well-stocked home that provides everything you might need (and then-some). We were happily surprised that there were plenty of toiletries, products, and all kinds of houseware items available for us to use. The hot tub and pool areas are spectacular. All the boulders and caves kept us busy as we climbed, explored, and built fires. We enjoyed Villa de Fiori so very much that we are already planning to come back! This is a one-of-a-kind property and experience.
