Scenic Setting But Rustic
Charming spot is as described, stone house with a brook running behind. Stayed in early March so the house had to be heated by the wood stove fairly constantly. Some wood was provided but we had to go up the hill to fill a wheelbarrow for another load.
Internet access was sketchy at times. A weak signal. The source is up a steep hill in the host’s house and we only had 1 bar on our phones at best. One night we had a power outage. The host was not on the property to address the problem. The cottage was equipped with one candle and the wood stove for light. When the owner returned the next day he told us that running both the kitchen and bathroom heaters simultaneously had probably caused the outage. That would have been helpful to know.
If you are looking for a rustic getaway this might suit you, but you may find yourself “unplugged.” We left three days early and weren’t offered any reduction or compensation. You get what you pay for.
