Great place to stay in Venice! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Though the check in process was different than we are used to, it was easy and quick. The room was clean and smell pleasant.

Property was in a great location for walking and was clean. I was a little uneasy for check in. I needed to check in early and it was hard to get good communication. In the end it all worked out and someone was there but it was not clear or assuring.

Cons: walking to/from bus station parking with each a large luggage took about 20 mins, walking up stairs. Very unpleasant. Communication with property was not easy. We booked with Expedia but they wouldn’t communicate with us thru them. We had to call a few numbers to get access code for room. They contacted on my mobile but like many I got a SIM card with a different number. Shower was extremely small. We weren’t aware of charge for breakfast and sternly advise that it was 10 Euros each. No thanks. We opted to go elsewhere. Small fridge was very noisy. Pros. Close to many dining options and activities like gondola ride. Beds were very comfortable. Property was very clean. Room was quiet.

Great location, modern style room
Pros- great location in a fab neighbourhood - lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance that were much nicer than the main tourist areas. Cons- as others have said, the check-in process is stressful. The rooms aren't really sound proof either - our room was right by the cleaners cupboards and every morning we were woken up early but workers talking loudly. This was annoying. It was expensive for what it was too - modern room but basic. Basic breakfast too. All in all the location made it worth it but just wouldn't go expecting any frills.

Overall the property was nice and they were accommodating! My only thing to note, is that it is hard to get ahold of them. I recommend just messaging them over WhatsApp right from the start, as they respond fast there! We also appreciated being able to store our luggage early before check-in and after check-out as we had a later flight that day!

Never received any check in communication, prior to arrival I called number listed on Hotels.com that had a recorded message and despite me leaving a message no one called. I reached out by e-mail too, after no timely reply spent 40 euros to store luggage. Within 30 minutes of that revived a message finally but no on way to do something else. The e-mail contained an incorrect door code to building, by trial and error we got in. The e-mail never named the wifi but gave a password that didn’t work for the only wifi that showed up. Again called and sent messages that were never answered. Next morning spoke to a man in lobby who appeared to work there and he told me to call the 2 numbers listed on sign, I’d already done so. I did finally receive a call back from cleaning lady who said she was coming up. She then proceeded to yell at us about the wifi and why we hadn’t chosen the correct wifi or called. I showed her my call log and she still claimed she hadn’t been called. Eventually the first man I met I believe reset the wifi. The property itself was nice enough but not worth the hassle. Also, signage said breakfast 8-10, when I enquired I was asked if my reservation included breakfast, I replied I can’t check as I have no WiFi, no one ever apologized

After reading the reviews I contacted the owner and was given the code to go in. The hotel was nice, clean and quiet. Loved it! Would defenitely go back again!

Room was basic but functional. Our only complaints are. No air con remote. It was set to warm. No way to control it. Not a lot of storage or hanging space. It could do with some hooks on the wall and a shelf or two. Location was good. 10 mins to train station. Lots of places to eat within mins of the front door. I would stay here again.

Nice property, but no one home to open the door.
This is a nice property with a good location, but their remote check-in approach failed. They did not reply to emails for help. Repeated phone calls went into voice mail for three hours. They finally called and gave me an access code to get into my room. I was about to fall asleep, at 10 pm, when there was a knock on the door. Another guest was there to retrieve a suitcase and explain that he had been told to go to a different room.

Be aware there is no front desk. Any interaction came from housekeeping. The only confusing experience was the check in with no front desk. Very clean room and very convenient location

Convenient Spot to Stay in Venice
We stayed with Locanda Herion mid October and found the location convenient and the accommodations comfortable. It was strange to never have seen a hotel employee at all during our stay but I understand this is the way some properties are going. It didn't cause us too much trouble. The only problem was some confusion with the checkin instructions. The instructions I was originally sent referred to a door that is not used in the "winter" (I didn't realize it was winter), The codes for the door in use and for our suite I had to manually request on the day of arrival. Other than that the directions to find the property from the train station were perfect. We would stay here again if we returned.

Booked as a guest so hotels.com couldn't help with problems. Best way is by water taxi from airport. Appartement didnt send key code entries until the day which i found a nightmare. This was via whats app due to no reception desk. Room was lovely comfortable beds small bathroom. Shame no tea coffee in the room . This was downstairs with disposable cups and no milk. Beware to work your tourist tax out on the main web page as they tried to charge me more. Over all i would stay here again even tho it is a fare walk to other areas of interests

5 stars WITH HEAVY RESERVATIONS. FIRST AND FOREMOST: download whatsapp before you stay here. We waited an hour in the rain for information to access the building but could not get a hold of anyone because of our US phone service until another guest helped us out and god bless her for doing so. She showed us to contact the peraon through whatsapp and aa soon as I got a hold of someone we were immediately in. The room was wonderful, the location was great, it was a perfect stay after the initial hiccup which may have been a random hiccup. So I repeat: download whatsapp because that's how we got a hold of someone quickly.
