Overall nice and safe. However, advertisement is deceiving as you have to share a RR with open more guest in separate area, read carefully. Breakfast was very good and you can order a many cappuccinos as you’d like. Great pizza around the corner and Rialto bridge and shopping center. Keys have to be dropped off every time you leave and they have 24 hr. front desk n service. Printing services if needed when we asked.

Close to a vaporetto (water bus) stop. Staff was excellent- friendly, personable. Room was clean and handy. Pillows were a little hard, though.

Wonderful, charismatic and traditional Venetian hotel in the heart of the island, making everything walking distance. Extremely friendly staff, freshly made coffee and croissants at breakfast, ornate interiors and comfortable rooms. Some reviews here have criticised it for being hard to find, which baffled us - it's easy! Just a couple of turns off the grande canal. We would stay here again every time.

Hotel is very close to water bus stop, market and Rialto bridge. Very convenient for short stay. The hotel being an old building has no elevator so prepare to walk on stairs with your luggage. Hotel serves free breakfast. Great staff and service.

For not being a 4 star hotel I would rate it one. Excellent breakfast, great location, clean rooms, and very nice staff. No elevator but that was OK with us. All as I can say is it's a really cold hotel.

Good base for exploring Venice
Booked at very short notice for a family night in Venice. The hotel was an order of magnitude cheaper than others I looked at so I was not expecting much. In the heat of August, the blast of cool air on entry was really nice. As was the pleasant welcome from the beautiful receptionist. The room was basic but comfortable. If I understand correctly the original building is hundreds of years old. As such one should not expect modernity, but the beds were comfortable, the bathroom a good size and clean. Of course the huge selling point is the location. Minutes from the Rialto Bridge, with attendant shops, cafes, restaurants and stops for water taxis, water buses and gondolas. The sole detractor for me was breakfast, and this was not the hotel’s fault. The hotel cannot accommodate many diners so it asks guests to choose a time for breakfast. When we arrived some inconsiderate guests were holding onto a table whilst chatting (not even drinking coffee). This led to a queue forming. It was not helped by other guests milling around the doorway instead of taking their seats and allowing staff to replenish supplies. In the end, we left as the queuing guests were continually bumping off us as we waited at our table. All simple to resolve if guests acted properly. No matter. We had a lovely breakfast a few meters away in the nearby piazza. We found it an excellent base for a flying visit to Venice for a family of 4. Grazie!

This hotel was in the middle of everything we wanted. 2 min walks from several cafés, shopping, and tourist sites like Rialto bridge. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and offered great info about the surrounding areas. Breakfast was easy and offered the basics like eggs, croissants, and meats. If I had to find one complaint, it would be that the bed was a bit hard. Other than that we had a great stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone in Venice!

Friendly staffs, close to everything but not easy walk to central station with large or lots of luggages. Breakfast variety is limited and with reservations time ahead. I stayed on the 2nd floor, so is manageable with the luggage. Help you “store” your luggage before checking in or after checking out - leave at the hallway next to the front desk. Room with good air conditioning during my August trip.

Hotel Guerrato was only a 1 minute walk from the Rialto Mercato vaporetto stop, (for line 1) 2 minutes from the Rialto Bridge, and only a 10 to 15 minute walk to Piazza San Marco. It's location was perfect. A very friendly and helpful staff greeted us each day, breakfast was great, with a good selection of food, including fresh cut up fruit daily! Our only minor complaint would be that there were no racks or tables on which to set our suitcases. We had to lay them on the floor making it a little awkward to use. But the AC worked great. As a one star rated hotel, there was no TV (didn't need it), and the towels were a little flat, but they were clean, and the shower stall was enclosed, so no water sprayed out onto the floor. We were given fresh bottled water each day, and the room was quiet. We felt it was still somewhat expensive, however we were in Venice proper, not out in Mestre, and compared to the prices of other hotels, Hotel Guerrato was acceptable!
