The loudest room ever
The hotel is in a nice location and we never had to worry about water HOWEVER that’s where the positives end. The room had ZERO sound proofing. Like you can hear your neighbor pee. The room constantly sounded like someone was trying to open the door. The bathroom was nice other than the fact it was a SAUNA. There was no way of turning off the heated towel rack which made the room VERY WARM. I was here in late November so I could not imagine having to sleep here in the summer. The coolest the room got was 22. The charger port on one side was broken so when we bought it up the front desk lady aruged with us that it was a previous child had broken it and it wasn’t their fault. Whatever but weird to ague when we were just bring it up. There’s not a lot of table space so the floor is your friend. Also last grievance was the mattress was VERY tilted on one side and I was constantly slipping off the bed. Spend your money somewhere else and do not stay here if you want to sleep.

You can’t have a poorly located hotel in Venice. Everything is a walkable distance, but if you are looking for a quiet place, this location wasn’t bad. The staff was friendly and nice. Venice is a pretty dirty city/island. It floods each day with the rising tides. Cool experience and decent food. Definitely check out the other islands if you have seen all there is to see in Venice- Murano and Burano. You can see both in the same day. If I ever returned to Venice, I wouldn’t mind staying at this hotel again.

Hotel location is excellent as it is near the St. Marks square. Unfortunately it is very noisy due to traffic. The rooms are small but we expect it so no surprise. Breakfast is served on the second floor in a small room so you need to let the front desk know of what time you want to eat. Unfortunately the hotel doesn’t have air conditioning so we left the windows open and got bitten by mosquitoes. Overall, we like the location.

Best location in a small bustling public square just 3mins walk from the main square (windows also open and overlook the small public square which is amazing). The room was small (to be expected in Europe) but very clean, modern and comfortable and it was a good layout for the size. Just be mindful there is no lift so be prepared to walk your luggage up at least one level/flight of stairs.

The room was extremely small. You could barely get around the bed without banging yourself on something. We stayed 2 nights. 8/28 & 8/29. The day clerk who checked us in was not very pleasant or welcoming. As a matter of fact, he was training a young woman. It was her second day there. The hospitality industry is not his forte and he should look for another job! The younger gentleman who was there in the evening and who checked us out on the 29th was very pleasant and accommodating.

It was a fantastic location, right near the square. However this did mean some noise from outside until about midnight. Walls also seemed quite thin in the hotel and unfortunately had some noisy neighbours. Pavel and staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Positive experience at Rio Hotel. Very convenient location to transportation near San Zaccaria station and very central location close by to San Marco. Average cleanliness. Very Small space. Room 206 has a view of the square in front , noise from restaurants below can be heard late (didn’t bother us).

Pros: clean room w/ A/C and facility, good communication w/ hotel staff, they even gave clear instructions for our after-hours check-in, close to Piazza San Marco and nearby popular spots, they clean rooms free water and snacks daily, restaurants and pharmacy nearby, 5 minute walk from water bus Cons: tiny room and bathroom, no place even for carry-on luggages, they only provided one pillow/person making it uncomfortable for us, wished there was fridge or microwave or elevator (which was already indicated on their website) Overall, it’s pricey in our opinion.

It was a great stay! AC was working well, super great location, staff was friendly and everything was clean. Only thing was our room was right next to the breakfast area so we always got woken up by people going there and also can hear people late at night at the restaurant below but not very troublesome and we enjoyed our whole stay regardless
