Drake on the Lake is perfect for couples, groups, or family getaways! This lakehouse is set up for rest, relaxation, and group accommodations. There is a 10% discount for (7) seven or more night rentals.
LOCATION
Located on the quiet north end of False River and close to conveniences when needed. Minimum boat traffic near the lake house so your boat will not beat against the dock all day. You are only 7 minutes to New Roads, and 23 minutes to St. Francisville, and 40 minutes to LSU Tiger Stadium. Local restaurants, fast food, grocery, pharmacy, hardware, and big box stores nearby in New Roads.
LAKE WATER LEVELS
We have no control over the water level of False River lake, and the water around the gazebo dock can be shallow at times for swimming off the dock. Please seek knowledge of any local, parish or state government plans to alter the water level or a lake drawdown during your stay on-premises. No refunds will be made due to the water level.
WHAT PEOPLE LOVE
Enjoy boating, kayaking, fishing, bird watching, soaking up the sun, hanging out with friends on your private gazebo dock, screen porch, or sitting around the fire pit on a star-lit night. There are great restaurants/bars, historic mansion tours, many antique shops, and even ziplining in the area to enjoy.
WHAT PEOPLE DISLIKE
Bird poop on the dock, chairs, and tables. False River has an active waterfowl population. Our docks are cleaned weekly, but it is an endless battle for all lake houses to keep the docks and chairs poop-free. You can clean one day and can have bird poop the next day. We have provided a water hose and brush at the gazebo if any chairs need to be cleaned. We are sorry about the inconvenience. The reality is, that's lake life!
PORCH
Start your days with a cup of coffee on the screened porch watching the waterfowl landing before you, and end your day with a beverage in hand, watching the sunset. The oversized screened-in patio has seating for six and is a great place to sit, relax and enjoy the lake view!
KITCHEN
The kitchen is fully equipped for extended stays with a gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, rice cooker, blender, pots, pans, cooking utensils, spices, and place settings for 12 people. You don’t have to bring much. We have it all here for you.
LIVING and DINING ROOM
The kitchen, dining, and living room are all open to each other, which makes it great for everyone to participate in conversations. The dining table seats eight, and the island counter seats four. The living room has a 75-inch smart TV and Sonos speakers for music, and you can easily connect your gaming console if needed.

The boat dock has permanent boat bummers for mooring your boat during your stay. You can moor up to three boats around the gazebo. Please always tie your boat to the metal cleats, not the wooden bumpers.

Right off the back porch is a fire pit and seating to enjoy if you want to start a fire and enjoy the evening.
