May be long time ago was very elegant, actually the entrance/lobby it’s very nice. But the rest of the hotel looks very old and deteriorated. Very sad to see how can they let go something so nice and elegant into something so ugly.

La estancia fue maravillosa, las habitaciones, las amenidades y el personal es para destacarse, se nota que si es un hotel antiguo y tiene sus detallitos pero nada que afecte la comodidad del hotel, eso sí, aunque en general toda la habitación estaba limpia, la rejilla del aire acondicionado estaba sucia, ese punto al parecer olvidan limpiarlo, por lo mismo no lo usamos pero no nos hizo falta porque el clima estaba agradable

PICTURES ARE DECEIVING We checked in Dec 8 2024 The young man at the front desk was not friendly at all The rooms are old and the tiles are old and warping off . In some areas the gap between tiles is about ¼ inch Bathroom fixtures were rusted Towels were old and thin from the wear and tear Sheets on the bed were old The rooms had an ugly urine-like smell. AC was too loud and the vents were rusty and dirty. We ended up moving to another hotel

The Hotel smelled very clean. I had a nice view of the plaza and church near by. One has to walk 1 to 2 blocks from the hotel to get a cab or public trans. The staff was very efficient, quick check in and out. Overall very nice.

The hotel needs updating; some parts are lovely, others need revamping. Our room itself was lovely. On three sides of the hotel, the streets were under massive construction so it was very noisy and at times unsafe: open manholes nearby difficult to manuever around at times. That would have been helpful to know ahead of time. Housekeeping staff were lovely & helpful.

Beware - in the middle of construction zone
Nice historical hotel in the center of downtown. Getting there tired at night form the airport and trying to check in before grabbing a bite to eat was a total frustrating point. The area around the hotel has been closed off to traffic due to major renovations of the underground utilities, etc. that have been going on for over a year and look like they will take another year, this is Nov 2024. The room has nice firm beds. The noise from the construction is very audible from the jackhammers etc so definitely bring ear plugs. The front desk is not necessarily rude but a bit unmotivated. The parking staff is very nice, I tipped them 20 pesos per valet collection. The pool is not remarkable, not bad but not outstanding, has no jacuzzi.

Black mold, stains, draw a finger through the dust
I am urging hotels.com to remove this property from their site. This "4-star hotel" was not acceptable at any star level or standard. The photos here are only a slice. Black mold throughout my room, dust in the room I could draw a line through with my finger. Stains on the chairs. Hair on the shower floor. Black mold on the bathmat. The HVAC unit in the room was falling from the ceiling and incredibly loud. When I went to seek another room, I was told it was the only one left in the hotel. The "airport shuttle" they promoted on their website doesn't exist. There were broken doors in the hallway and the elevator was in need of repair. Please, don't stay here.

Very old colonial hotel that smells terrible, probably due in large part to all the construction. Breakfast is a buffet and not included in room. The area around the hotel is fantastic for convenience (dining/shopping), but if I ever return to Veracruz, I would never stay here again. Bed is not comfortable, sheets not soft, but at least there was a working air conditioner in room. Service was very good as staff were helpful.
