James Bay Inn made my trip from Port Angeles via ferry to Victoria B.C. absolutely amazing. The restaurant was fun and the exchange rate was greatly in our favor and although I picked it due to its unique architecture and style it was a real bargain. Initially I was disappointed not to find USB-C outlets but I then remembered JBI was opened in 1911. Charming spot for a romantic getaway. Definitely will come back the staff was great and so were the other patrons. 10 minute walk to inner harbor.

Second time I’ve stayed here to visit family. Beautiful old inn in a charming residential neighborhood with quiet and comfortable suites walking distance to the ocean, Beacon Hill Park, and downtown. Great value, free parking, and a pub and restaurant on site.

It's an old building, well maintained but the old hot water heating system can't be turned down (and I like a cold room at night). The pub downstairs is nice and very friendly. It is in a quiet neighborhood within easy walk into downtown.

This is our third stay at the James Bay Inn. Charming historic hotel a short walk from the harbour. So convenient to walk to everything we needed in Victoria. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We would love to stay here again.

Arriving at the Inn we were greeted with kind and helpful staff which took good care checking us in. There was a glitch with their debit machine and it would not accept my credit card. Thankfully there were two of us and so it got sorted out. Great location close to all the things we came to do. The historic vibe was nice and the lobby area was appropriately decorated to fit the age of the building. Our room was a bit of a disappointment with a very dirty/stained carpet right inside the door. The sink was in the sleeping area which created a bit of a cramped space. The room was very hot so we needed to open windows just to be comfortable. We had no bath mat, light bulbs burned out,a lamp we could not turn off, and very hard uncomfortable beds with small pillows. Our Breakfast was okay, with a very good young fellow serving us. It was great to have help with our luggage, both arriving and leaving. It would have been really nice to have in room coffee makers. Overall we would rate the experience as average, based on pricing. 3/5 star.

Hotel is in a great location. Easy walk to everything in downtown Victoria. Staff were excellent. Very friendly, polite and helpful. Great pub and restaurant downstairs. Would stay again.
