This VRBO at Lake of The Ozarks is a relaxing getaway vacation. Located in the Golden Shores subdivisions, this house sits on one acre on The Lake of the Ozarks. It features a picturesque campfire setting, scenic views from the deck, and a boat well-kept boat dock. This lake has a mystery that attracts families, anglers, and adventure seekers. This home comfortably sleeps 10 to 12 in ten individual beds, a pull-out couch, and one portable crib. It is nestled on a half-acre just minutes from Warsaw at mile marker 84.5 of Lake of the Ozarks; this laid-back three-bedroom, 2.5-bath cabin is situated on a quiet “no wake” cove. It is on the water with a Dock and boat slip, and four kayaks are free to use with the rental. This home is often used for family vacations on the quieter part of Lake of The Ozarks. It is excellent for family retreats, fall leaf peepers, hunting parties, and fall fishing. It is serenely quiet and relaxing in the winter, with few people around. You can almost hear the snow hitting the ground as it falls.
The star of our house is the outdoors! The backyard fire pit with natural log seating is perfect for campfires, smores, and laughter. We will also provide split firewood for campfires. The upstairs deck features a ceiling fan for summer comfort, an outdoor dining set for six, and a comfy teakwood couch for outdoor naps. The north-facing deck is just a stone’s throw from the lake. The full walk-out porch beneath the deck features a porch swing, hammock, wicker loveseat, and chiminea.
With plenty of beds for a family, a small reunion, or a weekend getaway with the guys/gals, this cabin appeals to families, anglers, boaters, kids, and older adults alike! The main bedroom and bathroom feature a queen Sleep Number bed, rocking chair, changing table (for baby), Pack n Play crib, and washer and dryer in the adjacent main bathroom.
The beautiful dining room table seats up to 10, adding a highchair. There is a deck overlooking the back of the property, an outdoor table set for six, and a comfy couch for outdoor naps. The kitchen has all newer appliances, and many cooking utensils and pantry staples are included for your stay. The entire home is electric (no gas). Downstairs, the walkout basement consists of two bedrooms, a full bathroom, three bunk beds, and an 85-inch TV w/ DVD/BluRay. Starlink Internet is well distributed with WIFI throughout (usually between 140 & 250 Mbps). Board Games, Cards, Poker chips, and more are in the game closet on the lower level.
The dock is on a 2–4-foot depth with a deeper channel extending beyond. With a mud bottom mixed with some features that anglers enjoy, it’s the perfect place to swim or throw out a fishing line (we are happy to give some fishing tips for the area and can recommend local guides). The serenity of your stay will be unmatched compared to the hustle and bustle often described with Lake of the Ozarks! Remember that water depth is dictated by the combination of Mother Nature and the Army Corps of Engineers, as Truman Dam is a hydroelectric dam.
Do you like to cook outside? There is an Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn Combo Charcoal/Gas Smoker & Grill with offset firebox for hardwood smoking. Includes a Gas Grill, A Charcoal Grill, And a Smoke Box in one. This is in addition to the existing OG Weber Kettle. The kitchen typically houses basic seasonings and condiments. Missouri Paddlefish season: If you join us from March 15 to April 30th, the odds are high that you will be traveling to Lake of the Ozarks for the world-renowned paddlefish experience. This home is a brilliant place to stay and play on your paddlefish journey. It is quiet, serene, and a perfect place to reflect and unwind. You will want to know a couple of tips. The water in this cove recedes slowly from early December to mid-January. By the end of January, the cove is primarily dry. The dock will be sitting on the bottom. Docking a boat will be possible in mid to late May. Spoonbill (paddlefish) season runs from May 15th to April 30th. Paddlefish move from the depths near Bagnall Dam up the lake towards spawning grounds near Truman Dam. As the spoonbill moves up the channel, guides track their progression toward spawning grounds. If you are coming for Spoonbill season, we highly suggest hiring a local guide if this is your first time. Please visit the MDC website and be familiar with the regulations.
Motor Powered Boats: Our dock slip is not small and will accommodate most pontoons, bass boats, and small to medium ski boats. Guests may use the dock for their watercraft during their stay, but be mindful of depth compared to your boat’s draught before docking. LOTO water levels rise and fall throughout the day; large crafts may have issues as there is no boat lift in the dock well. The closest public boat ramp is Drake Harbor in Warsaw. Hosts are happy to assist with directions or suggestions from Drake to our property if needed.
Hosts will make available a small outdoor toddler-sized playset, a youth kayak and paddle, three adult-sized fishing “sit-on-top” fishing kayaks and paddles, and some general sizes of life jackets. Life Jackets must be worn while using Kayaks as there is a current in the deep-water lake channel.
Based on your occupancy numbers, we will provide rolls of septic-safe toilet paper and allergen-free septic-safe laundry detergent. Each bathroom will also have essential soaps, shampoo, towels/linens, etc. We also try to cover a few basics in case guests need to remember, but we cannot account for everyone's specific wants and needs.
House Rules: No smoking indoors (we have set up spaces outdoors with your comfort in mind). No fireworks or discharging of weapons on the property. No Hunting on this property. We recommend water shoes when swimming as you never know what’s on the bottom. Two dogs under 50 lbs each are welcome (there is a pet fee as extra cleaning is usually required), but please keep them on leashes or tethers when enjoying the outdoors. (This is an HOA requirement). We have a $25 per night/per person additional cleaning fee for adults exceeding ten adults. This will help cover extra cleaning expenses and will be added at check-out. Please, no more than five vehicles, one boat trailer on the property, and no more than 12 people staying overnight. We do not have parking for large parties.
Just to let you know, security cameras are on the property's exterior public entrances and one watches the boat well on the dock to help secure the boater’s items. We have never had security issues, but peace of mind is priceless.
