Stayed for a week in October on vacation with my partner. We got a room with a kitchenette, which mostly worked well for us, but was lacking some things I'd expect (like a microwave and any place to sit and eat other than the desk and bed). Sound insulation was nonexistent - multiple nights we were woken or kept up by LOUD conversations in the room next door and/or hallway at all hours; a call to the front desk did help the night that we were woken by obscenities at 3 a.m., but we could still hear way too much from our neighbors even when they weren't yelling. Location is OK, near the Naval Observatory, a few bus routes (but not a Metro line), several grocery stores, and some nice walking trails behind Embassy Row. D.C. is expensive in general, but I was disappointed with the value-for-money here given the subpar room as described above.

The hotel rooms are somewhat worn, malfunctioning blinds, low quality linens, one tiny miniscule bar of handsoap, impossible-to-operate AC/heating system, squeaky bed frame, and awful in-room coffee. Additionally, when we checked in for our 4 night stay we were told that housekeeping was only done every 2 days. On the 2nd day, our room was not serviced and when we inquired, we were told we would be “put on the list for 3rd day”. By 3 pm on the 3rd day, the room was not serviced and the housekeeper told us that our room was “not on the list”. Noting that our garbage cans were overflowing, I requested housekeeping service again from front desk. Late afternoon on the 3rd day, we received minimal housekeeping service. It is an adequate location for our needs but needs a lot of updating to justify the price.
