Property is dated with squeeky floors. Fair location. Beds are a bit hard for our comfort.

Trike trip
The 2nd bathroom was quite small and the shower only had enough room to stand in it-extremely small. the 3 guys didn't even fit in that shower. Parking was not real great but we made it work. Otherwise, enjoyed being able to walk where we wanted to go.

Wine Weekend
The house worked very well for the three of us ladies. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were nice. The kitchen was small, but had what we needed. The most challenging part was the parking as the space is very limited. We had to park over a block away. However, the house was close to many shops and a bars/restaurants/wineries which were easy to get to.

Getting in touch with the owners to get some questions answered was a little frustrating. The dishes were not cleaned by the previous renters. This is not something the cleaning people would do. We had to wash all the dishes as there was still food on the pans, plates, and silverware. The couch and chairs also had crumbs in the cushions. Other than that, the house was very charming and fit our needs. It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. The master suite was AWESOME but the bed was a little hard for my taste. Overall, a good place to stay.

Girls weekend
This house was the perfect place for a girls weekend away. I don’t agree with with some of the reviews that were left. The place is clean and has everything you need. We parked in the lot next to the house just like the directions told us to and we didn’t have any problems at all. The house is a little older and could use some fresh paint, but who cares! We were away out and about more than we were in. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were fluffy which is a plus in my book. The location was great. We called the trolley and it came to the end of the alley to pick us up and they dropped us off when we were done. I would definitely stay here again.

Kinda dirty
The overall house was perfect for the group we had! The only complaint was the spider webs in the corners and the dirt on the floor. The couches also weren't very clean. We were not in the house very much, so it didn't really matter that much...

40th Birthday-party of 4. Big plans let down.
I write this review to provide honest feedback as some of the reviews were mixed but nothing recent. I also provided this feedback to the owner of the home to which went unanswered. There is no front door parking. It’s on the street While it was not a positive that we had to park on the street the entire weekend it was not the worst of my concerns just more of a inconvenience. My biggest concerns was the lack of cleaning and small beds. In regards to the cleaning team, I would ask for a refund for them for how they left our rental. While the location was perfect and we enjoyed our time in Hermann. the unit left some things to be desired. Upon arrival the unit was not cleaned as expected. There was old contact lens in the sink, the toilet paper roll that was in the middle bathroom looked like it had been in water and left to dry. Over all didn’t looked cleaned at all. Counters and tables were not recently cleaned and the big bathroom tub was really gross. Fridge had dirt in it. The beds were much smaller than we expected for being queens. The over all clean of the unit needed some TLC. There was scratches and marks on the walls. The vent in the big bathroom showed light which lead us to look at it to discover you could see below clear enough to see a bedroom. Talk about uncomfortable. This in itself was upsetting. All of the floor vents were not cut to the size of the hole leaving parts of them open or exposed. There were stains on the chairs and half patched hole in the wall. For the price we paid to rent this unit we did expect more on the cleanliness and over all appearances. If this was a hotel chain, I would be asking for a refund and challenge my credit card. I think the person that provides the upkeep and cleaning on this unit did not provide a good customer experience. While I understand Hermann is an old town with history, I do not think our accommodations should have been what I would call not meeting expectations. Based on customer experience and owner lack of reply, I would NOT rent this location again. This location has minimal effort put into fixing items and cleaning. Also the remote is still not working from when someone posting about it almost a year ago.

Things we didn't like: 1. No mattress pads on the beds. Gross. 2. Someone else's underwear under one of the beds. Also gross. 3. The listing is inaccurate in that there is one king bed, but the other beds are NOT queen beds, they are double beds. 4. The house was not filthy, but it needed a better cleaning. There were cobwebs and the corners of rooms were dirty. We felt safe despite the somewhat dark alley. Good lock and lighting. The house served our purpose but we would not stay here again.

Great location and cozy place.
The House on Wine Alley is a great place to stay and has plenty of room for 4-5 people and the location can't be beat. We will definitely rent it again. Only thing I would mention is that the remote for the tv doesn't work because it's a different brand than the tv is, but that isn't a big deal. Adding a dvd player would be nice too. Other than that it was a great experience and I highly recommend it.

Cute and Clean
Owner’s description, pictures, and instructions were spot on. Excellent communication with owner prior to our stay for all of our questions. It was my first VRBO type stay, so I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect. Excellent use of the square footage. There were six of us ladies and we were very comfortable for the little amount we were actually in the house. Everyone commented on the cleanliness and decor, too! We only rented the house, but I saw that there are two other suites that were part of the property that could be really fun for a large group! I also wanted to note that this property is literally in an alley which could sound like an inconvenience or a little scary, but none of us felt that way. It was well lit. The parking is about what you could expect for an alley. Our group only had one vehicle, so it was fine. If we had more we would’ve parked on Market and walked up. Overall, we loved the house, the town and the experience. I would stay here again!

Location great, lackluster otherwise
The location of the house can't be beat, easy walking access to downtown Hermann and short drive to wineries. The parking situation is dismal, we had to park on the street and walk our things up a hill to the house in the rain (the parking that is normally used is a grass lot on a one way side alley, it was unavailable our weekend due to the Eagles lodge having an event and needing to use it). The house itself could use a really good deep cleaning, although I am an admitted clean freak even my friends who are not said the same thing. The floor in the "master" bedroom had many soft spots including one that we were concerned could actually give way and cause someone to fall through. The main bathroom that is shared for the other two bedrooms is so tiny you almost cannot fit between the toilet and sink unless you are tiny. The smart tv and access to apps was nice, the large table to fit everyone was also a good amenity. The beds were comfy as well and I am sure the patio would be nice to use if the weather is good. Overall having visited and stayed in Hermann multiple times for the cost this is not a property I could honestly recommend or would visit again.
