FOREST GARDENS GETAWAY

FOREST GARDENS GETAWAY is a small Bed & Breakfast located on the edge of the Ottawa National Forest & the Sylvania Wilderness Area. (Find our contact information on MapQuest). If you’re looking for a place to help you put away the cares and concerns of the world, look no further! We have been hosting guests for 8 years and have loved every minute of it. Our goal is to provide a peaceful, retreat-like experience for our guests and we do whatever we can to make you feel comfortable and welcome in our home.

The western side of the UP is swell keep secret and is just breathtaking. We're about 20 miles from Bond Falls and about an hour from Porcupine Mountain State Park where you'll find Lake of the Clouds and Presque Isle Falls. All are simply gorgeous. Go a bit further west to Black River Harbor and your jaw will drop when you hike to the 5 different waterfalls that roar through the gorges and end up in Lake Superior at the harbor where you can walk for miles. After you've had enough exploring for the day, come back to the house and relax on the large screened-in gazebo or in front of the fireplace in the living room, cocktail in hand.

This large room has a queen size bed. There is also a TV and small refrigerator. Your large private bathroom is located immediately outside the bedroom door. Robes are provided.

We have a separate suite on the opposite side of the house from you and are as available as you wish for us to be. We love to visit with our guests but also want to give you your privacy if you so desire!

It was wonderful! Debbie and Al are very special hosts, they put love into absolutely everything they did to make our stay very relaxing and special! Debbie and Alan were master hosts in every way. Everything was perfect. Conversations much enjoyed. The property was divine. A 10-star breakfast was served on a super-sized gazebo with 360 degree views of the property and lake with white swans swimming around. Gardens and paths colored the way with blooming flowers and frogs sunning themselves on lily pads. Babbling sounds from a waterfall and pond outside our bedroom window lulled us to sleep. It was magical. We didn’t want to leave.

Lovely craftsman built home. Gardens landscaping spectacular. Accommodations beautifully appointed. So comfortable. Large delicious breakfast. Lake views complete with Whistling Swans. My husband and I have been coming up north to the Eagle River area for many years and typically stay in a cottage on a lake. We decided to try something new this year and stayed at Debbie and Alan’s bed and breakfast. The property was absolutely stunning and the location was great. Our Favorite Northwoods Gem
Forest Gardens Getaway is our favorite stay ever in the northwoods of Wisconsin. If you are searching for a quiet, beautiful asylum to destress and chart adventures in the Cisco Chain, Sylvania Wilderness or Porcupine Mountains; it is unequalled. This pristine, architecturally unique home is situated on a private lake with gardens and walking trails. The home itself is designed with contemplation and privacy as its focus; as the four bedrooms are located at the opposing sides of the home on two levels. We found the bed to be very comfortable with top quality sheets. There was even a little waterfall outside of our bedroom window to lull us to sleep. There is a screened gazebo with comfortable furniture, which overlooks the lake to share with other visitors. The owners, who designed and built this custom pine and river rock gem from the floors up, could not be kinder. The breakfast was superbly prepared from the finest ingredients. We could not recommend this humble abode, with its wonderful creators, more. A visit to be cherished.

Lovely getaway!
We absolutely loved our stay with Alan and Debbie! They’re property is beautiful, peaceful, and cozy. And the breakfasts…. Yum!! They have truly poured their hearts and souls into this slice of paradise, thinking about every little detail. We felt welcomed and comfortable from arrival to departure. Even made friends with the other guests (who have unofficially became our adopted kids haha). If/when we’re up that way again we would undoubtedly stay there again! Much love to our fabulous hosts!

Debbie and Alan’s home and property were lovely. We walked the trails on the grounds and enjoyed the peace and quiet in lush surroundings. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast they made for us was incredible. Everything included in the meal - and it was a lot! - was delicious. Debbie and Alan made it easy to be in their home. They were available when we needed them and unobtrusive the rest of the time. I want to go back - soon and offen!

Honeymoon Retreat
Beautiful and peaceful bed and breakfast retreat, perfect for a remote getaway! Private access to a lake for canoing and kayaking (provided), as well as a gorgeous home, my wife and I really loved our honeymoon there, and are already planning to return in the future. Deb and Alan were a joy to talk with, and she made some amazing breakfasts, gourmet quality, yet there was plenty of privacy. Also, practically any ammenity and comfort you could hope for is thoughtfully provided. If you like to get away and not stress, I'd highly recommend. There are plenty of natural sights to see and good foods to eat with plenty of hidden gems as well. Even the drives are beautiful and relaxing. There's plenty more that could be added, but overall 10/10 highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous wood and stone home overlooking Twist Lake. Beautifully decorated with attention to so many details like piped in bird sounds from the outside. The gourmet breakfasts were fantastic. Living quarters were very private and quiet. We were so happy with this little piece of heaven!

Peaceful forest getaway
This place was an absolute gem. My husband and I were needing a peaceful vacation after our son got married and this was perfect. Between the beautiful and delicious homemade breakfasts, the hospitality of Debbie and Alan, and their help getting us to see all the best tourist spots, we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Wonderful home
A classic B&B experience. The hosts were long-time residents of the area. Gave great guidance for places to visit. Breakfasts were fabulous. House is incredible and we’re able to relax in living space beyond the rental room without feeling like we were intruding. We enjoyed visiting with the hosts. Definitely would book again.
