The timber frame house was well built, rustic and compliments the property. My family was comfortable and enjoyed the game room when we were not having fun outside. The location is ideal for those who want to enjoy the Lehigh River Trail.

Lovely cabin and easy stay
My family enjoyed a long weekend, taking advantage of the pond for swimming and boating, the walk to the nearby waterfall, and the fire pit for some evening smores. Major Tom was helpful and, as others noted, brought us fresh eggs and was available if anything came up. We all had a wonderful time. Minor mark down on cleanliness because there were mouse droppings on the pans kept in the lower shelves of the kitchen, as wells as a large pile of droppings--presumably more than a couple days worth--on the second floor balcony that we had to sweep out before our dog got at them. But all together it was a wonderful stay!

Beautiful getaway
The cabin is nestled tucked away. There is another cabin next to you. Our cabin was so lovely. It is right near the pond and there are friendly ducks. Duck food was provided and our girls loved feeding them. We brought our pup, a basset hound, who loved hiking with us and enjoying all the new smells. Liz answered all my questions and Major Tom greeted us when we checked in. He brought us fresh eggs! The rooms were clean and we loved the openness of the living space and kitchen. We enjoyed a movie night when it was raining and our last night we did a camp fire to roast marshmallows. Major Tim brought us dry firewood and started the campfire for us! He was attentive and so helpful. The bathtub was wonderful to use after a long day of white water rafting which we did at a place only 10 minutes drive. We enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We hope to come back in the fall. We all had a fun and relaxing time.

So peaceful
What a beautiful, peaceful, slice of nature! The perfect mix of relaxation and active enjoyment! The cabin was so comfortable and accommodating, the immediate yard was great for fires and kids playing, the pond and trails were fun to explore, and the waterfall was magical! Hosts were responsive and inviting, and Major Tom was so generous with his farm fresh eggs and tips for watching the gorgeous sunset! Really hoping to return regularly!

A dream getaway cabin
The cabin is stunning and very well equipped. We had a great time. It was clean and super quiet. We enjoyed exploring the wildlife that surrounded us and hiking in the nearby State Park (and the creek that runs just behind the cabin). Liz and Major Tom were super attentive and welcoming. We'll be happy to come again.

Good weekend getaway
My family of 4 enjoyed our stay. My boys liked ping pong and shuffleboard (no pool table as listed). The pond in our opinion was not swim friendly but the boys did canoe some. We enjoyed camp fires. We liked the walk to the waterfall but the trails are not marked well so a little hard to find but Major Tom gave good instructions that helped. We enjoyed being near the state parks to hike at and did white water raft which was fun. Kitchen had what we needed and doing some laundry was really helpful as this was the second leg of our vacation. Shower was tight and was missing soap so bring your own. Overall a good find and a fun time.

Memories
The memories we collected carry much more value then material gifts. From times around the campfire to wild scenes of Nana with her first fish landed only with the assistance of her 4 year old grandson. From feeding the ducks to canoe rides on the pond. What a wonderful vacation.

All the reviews are true! This cabin is beautiful, clean, fun, welcoming, unique, and comfortable. Close enough to Kalahari for the kids a day but spent most time on the property. You can’t beat fresh eggs and jam from Major Tom as well as his vast knowledge of the area. The fishing was awesome for our kids. Bedding was super comfy. Can’t wait to come back!

Awesome Location
This is the second stay for my family at Brookside. What we enjoy most is having access to 370+ acres which includes fish ponds and paths for meandering. There's a nearby stream and waterfall to explore, plus easy access to the D&L trail for walking or biking. Also, Hickory Run State Park is close by for hiking. Overall, a very relaxing place to escape!

Peace & Tranquility!
From the moment we stepped on the property and heard the running water behind the house it set the mood for our trip. It was such a quiet few days. No people, no noise. Just birds, water and relaxation. Our dog loved the off leash long walk down the trail. Coffee on the deck was enjoyed each morning sitting in the “egg” swinging chair, listening to the tiny water falls. Not only was the outside wonderful but the inside of the house was amazing and comfortable. It was just what we needed.

Beautiful place!!
What a beautiful place. The cabin is gorgeous. Very well stocked. We enjoyed it so much. The friendly ducks greeted us every day, waiting for their food. They even ate out of our hand. Miss them. The walking trails were great. Everything was spectacular. Major Tom, the host, was so informative and any questions you had, he answered. And he even gave us some eggs from his chickens. If you want to relax and just enjoy the outdoors with so many places to walk, the ponds, and watching the sunset, this is the place to be. We will definitely be back. Thanks, Major Tom and Liz.

A true gem in Northeast PA
We had the good fortune to stay the weekend at Liz's beautiful lodges in Weatherly, PA. Couldn't have hoped for a better place for our adult family and two dogs to relax and enjoy nature! The cabin/lodge was awesome - rustic, yet full of amenities - everything you need. Major Tom took great care of us, recommending places to go, trails to take to their waterfall, best sunset viewing spaces, etc. And the ducks - they were one of the big hits of the weekend. Can't thank you folks enough for allowing us to stay with you - we'll be back!
