Winter weather storm
We were unable to make it to the property due to a winter weather storm. Vacasa sent us emails warning us about the storm:
“The National Weather Service has placed a winter storm warning on your vacation rental’s area from today.”
“ Guests can expect heavy snowfall and high winds throughout the weekend, making travel difficult. Make sure to stock your car(s) with a flashlight, food and water in case of an emergency, and be aware that there is a possibility of shoveling needed to enter and/or exit rentals.”
“The Mount Hood region is experiencing widespread power outages due to high winds and extreme winter conditions.”
“ We apologize for the inconvenience and potential disruption to your stay, however our Guest Experience Team is here to assist you with your travel plans. Please contact us at 800-544-0300 and we will be happy to work with you on the details of your stay.”
We were coming from out of town and due to these conditions, multiple travel warnings, and the rental car company not offering chains for the tires - we made the hard choice not to risk the elements for us and our kids safety.
Despite these warnings sent by Vacasa and Vacasa saying to call to so we can “work on the details of your stay” - they did not offer a refund, credit or even a rebooking. We would love to make this trip happen in the future when conditions aren’t dangerous. It is a hard amount of money to lose when it was clearly the right decision to not risk being stuck without power on mt Hood
