Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this quiet, cozy cabin. The wooded setting and small neighborhood were quite peaceful. The space was sufficient for a family with 4 kids between the ages of 2-10. The property was great for the kids to run around, play hide and seek, and enjoy fires. The kitchen was well stocked for us to be able to cook our own meals. The front porch and back deck were nice for some quiet morning and evenings times too. The silverware in the kitchen, however, was quite unfortunate. The forks, knives, and spoons all had painted handles, and the paint on all of them was peeling off and flaking leaving paint chips in the drawer, on the table, and on our hands. The house did not look like it was cleaned (other than a quick vacuum and dusting) before we arrived, which I found surprising considering the cleaning fee charged for the rental. The windows, windowsills, and bedrooms (especially under the beds) all looked dirty to me. There were also a number of needed maintenance items that surprised me including loose door strike plates, broken stairs on the back deck (we were informed of this in advance of our stay), doors that didn't shut properly, etc. None of it was awful, but I expected a cleaner and more well-maintained property for the price I paid. Had the price been 30% less per night less and there not been a cleaning fee, then I would have been fully satisfied.
