Washington County's Leonard J. Yahr County Park, opened August 14, 2007. Owned by the Carl Erler family since the late 1800's, the property was used as a sawmill that was eventually converted into a sulfur match factory in the late 1870's. In 1943, when Leonard and Ruth Yahr retained ownership, portions of the land were used as a dairy farm and later, as an apple orchard. The property was donated in 1999 by the Leonard J. Yahr family to the Washington County Planning and Parks Department for use as a County Park.
Located along the north shore of Erler Lake in the Town of Farmington, the 38 acre County Park provides many opportunities for outdoor recreation and relaxation.
