The Granary Cottages are a small complex of individual cottages, converted from a traditional farm building located just off the A171/A169.

Description:
Stunning stone cottages only a short drive from Whitby and the coast. The cottages offer a parking space and large gardens with lovely views of the countryside and coast. The cottages are within the boundary of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park with its many beautiful villages and walks with several footpaths running through the grounds giving you great access to the countryside.

This place is spot on for a little retreat away from the bustle of nearby towns. The host is really lovely and accommodating. We had an issue with hot water that she resolved immediately. There’s lovely little touches like some welcome snacks. Honestly excellent value as well, you’d definitely not complain even if prices were higher given quality of the stay.

We loved the property. Just the right size for a base to visit local sights for a few days. Very comfortable and clean and the arrival pack was much appreciated. I would recommend to anyone thinking of staying near Whitby.

Lovely and modern upgrade to old granary 5 mins walk from park and ride to Whitby. All the comforts you would expect and a few surprises. It’s the little things that count when you arrive and it was all there. Will return in the future.

Perfect home from home!
Jenny's home is modern, gorgeous and spotless on a lovely spot overlooking fields. There's a huge garden area and benches put the front for al fresco dining. We visited in October and it was so toasty thanks to under floor heating. We loved the welcome basket, the local info amd the DVDs/games etc. From here we easily hopped into Whitby to see the Abbey, the beach at Sandsend and also a lovely walk and train ride along the trainline between Goathland and Grosmont. We'll definitely be back if we're coming to the area again! Thanks so much!

A pleasant stay
The cottage is all very new and well furnished. As there were only 2 of us we slept in the king sized bed and used other bedroom as a dressing room. There is a good bathroom with shower over the bath. We only ever shower but shower was good. A large TV in lounge and comfortable seat and sofa. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. Parking right outside the door. Location was good for travelling the area and park & ride a shor walk away. (but we drove there anyway as we were going for a long walk around Whitby). Overall we were very happy with property and location.

Whitby adventure
This is our first visit to whitby, the cottages were perfectly situated just outside of the town, with a park and ride bus station just down the track. Getting anywhere was relatively easy with access to the main roads directly from the cottages. There are so many places to go walking, drive out to visit, fossil hunting, shopping, crabbing. Our objective was visiting sites used in the TV series Heartbeat, and the heritage railway, but we did so much more. We would love to go back.

Brilliant communication, from booking to arrival. Accommodation was spotless and perfect for what we wanted. 5 minutes walk to Whitby Park and ride and the stables pub. What a great find. Lovely property, modern furnishings, clean and just as described. Host greeted us upon arrival and was available for the whole of our stay. Quiet location, allocated parking plus additional parking available if travelling with others. Short drive into Whitby, park and ride available March-October, free parking in Whitby outside these months. We stayed in one of the two bedroom properties but already considering the larger 8 bedroom property and bringing the rest of the family, which the host Jenny was kind enough to show us around. Can highly recommend and will definitely return.

Wonderful accommodation, we all had a fantastic time on our short break holiday, in Whitby. Highly recommend the cottage, which is just a short drive away from the beach ⛱. During our stay we enjoyed many local activities suitable for the children aged from 4 to 15 years. Including water sports, swimming, fishing 🎣, crabbing, a boat trip 🚢 and country walks.

FANTASTIC PROPERTY IN A GREAT LOCATION
This was our first visit to Yorkshire / Whitby and we couldn't have chosen a better place in which to base ourselves. The cottages are ideally situated on the outskirts of Whitby less than a 10 minute walk to the Park & Ride service and to a nice, family friendly, pub....The Stables. The whole cottage complex has been sympathetically renovated and finished to a high standard in a contemporary style. As there were only 2 of us we chose one of the smaller cottages (Cottage 2). It was exactly as pictured and marketed and was lovely and clean - and very well equipped. We were welcomed by the host on our arrival and the Welcome Pack was nice touch. In a gated site with designated parking for 1 car it felt very safe and, although only a short drive from the main road was lovely and quiet. There was virtually no noise once inside (Obviously helped by the very thick walls !) Outside is a picnic table with umbrella and a separate bench - both ideal for eating or having an end of day drink ! The lounge was comfy and there was plenty of seating around the dining table (plus 3 bar stools at the breakfast bar). The downstairs loo was a good thought as well - I can imagine it would be very handy if you had young children in and out all the time. Chatting to some of our neighbours, they had revisited several times (which in itself says something). If we were to visit the area again (which to be honest we probably won't as we like to experience different locations) we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. We would fully recommend the cottages for anyone visiting Whitby or the surrounding areas (they are also on the edge of the Moors).

We really enjoyed our stay the Granary was a lovely place and really well placed for Whitby and the surrounding area. The countryside around is beautiful and watching the two Hares running in the field nearby every day was a particular highlight.

Great property in a great location
We visited on our first trip away from home with an 8-month-old baby. The property was very clean and modern, nicely decorated and had good furniture, and provided enough space to spread out all the baby paraphernalia!. Everything was provided that could be needed. Located just outside Whitby near to the main road for easy transport options all around the area and with good parking. Would definitely stay again in future.
