Spacious and family functional
Our multi-generation , multi-state family recently gathered and stayed at clean and comfortable The House of Blues. Host, Nichole, was welcoming and responsive. The three levels worked well to give the different family units their own space. The younger generations particularly enjoyed the lower level which included comfy TV viewing seating, a sports table, games, and counter/frig for snacks and drinks. This was a winter stay, so the deck looked spacious but we can’t really speak to it or the yard. Essential kitchen items are provided. (We recommend the coffee mugs be restocked as the supply appeared to be down to one standard mug and one handled soup cup. ). The neighborhood experienced a trash pickup glitch due to the holidays, but Nichole alerted us to the situation and worked the issue. Sleeping accommodations were comfortable. (Be aware that the big beds are queens, not kings.) There are two bedrooms on the second floor, one bedroom on the lower level, plus a master bedroom on the main level. A study off the kitchen is not a bedroom but does have a futon. The home is located in a quiet, residential area. Wichita is an easy town to navigate, so while the house isn’t close to the main attractions, they are just a quick and easy drive away. It is close to a supermarket, drug store, and a number of restaurants. The treat welcome basket was appreciated. We do wish handrails were added to both the front steps and steps to garage for safety of all.
