Great location
Cute guest house, few minutes walk to some great coffee shops, bars and restaurants. Would have loved to stay longer and explore and if I was to come back I'd book this place again. Great value for money, easy check in.

Have to say one of the best, if not THE best places i've ever stayed. Clean, plenty of room for my son and we had everything we needed for our weekend away. House keeping was amazing, always came back to our room clean and fresh again. Definitely the quietest hotel we've ever had. Just perfect and what we needed for our weekend away. Will absolutely book this hotel again, thank you for having us.

The room was simple, clean, and homely, with the staff cleaning the room every day and leaving some nice touches such as a small Easter egg for us in addition to the usual tea/coffee/biscuits etc (we were staying over the Easter bank holiday weekend) - a lovely thought that we appreciated muchly! The staff were also very friendly and quick to resolve issues - the central heating boiler actually broke just as we arrived (not their fault), but they came up to explain and had a plumber called out fixed it within the hour. Location was great - a quiet side street about halfway between Windermere and Bowness town centres - about 15 mins walk to either - very convenient but far away away enough to get some peace and quiet and a good night's sleep. My only criticism is that there was very little hanging space in the room, nor many surfaces on which to place luggage / clothes / toiletries etc. Could have done with perhaps a small wardrobe or another sideboard / chest of drawers or similar. Particularly in the bathroom, where we could really have done with a shelf on which to place toothbrushes, makeup, contact lense stuff etc. The mattress was also a little soft for our liking, but that's personal preference - we do like pretty firm mattresses, so I can forgive that. Other than that, pretty good! Very reasonably priced and a lovely stay :)

Nice B&B in Lake Area
Booked 2 rooms. One was convenient on the first floor and the other was on the third (?) floor which was hard to navigate. The second room had a very small window and slanted ceiling so not as comfortable as the first room. (Awkward for 2 couples traveling together and paying the same price for the 2 rooms that were not the same.) No staff on site so really had no one to provide information or services. We had no soap or mat in the shower and no staff to provide it. The shower was extremely slippery and dangerous without a mat. Parking is on the residential street and very limited. Lovely city and we enjoyed the restaurants and business area.

The house is made up of 6 individual rooms. We were in room 3 which was a nice modern double with a small very clean and functional ensuite with a glass corner shower. Water pressure was good and shower was nice and hot. Tea coffee sachets were available but the quality could be better.

We only had one night on tbe Lakes but if we had been there longer we'd have been more than happy to stay in Thornleigh House. Very clean and comfortable. Access was easy. Would definitely stay again.
