The Ledge is a little slice of paradise up on a hill above the stunning coastline of Nova Scotia. The Ledge Cottage is located on our property, The Ledge Cottage is perfect for a couple or individual looking for a quiet seaside getaway. Take in the 180 degree waterview from the covered deck, tranquil Indian Harbour Lake flows from the right hand side into the Port Hilford Bay (across the road) stretching as far as the eye can see on the left.
The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay, a queen sized bed, fully equipped kitchen, and full bathroom. Read a book or take a nap in the loft as you listen to the sounds of the waves from the bay below. Sit on the covered deck to take in a stunning sunset. And spend the evening by the bonfire or enjoy some stargazing far away from the city lights.
The cottage is centrally located to several beautiful beaches including Port Hilford Beach which is just a few steps down the hill and across the road for long strolls and Wine Harbour Beach, a hidden gem among Nova Scotians. We are just a 15 minute drive from the Historic Sherbrooke Village and scenic St. Maryās River and 20 minutes from "the canāt miss" Port Bickerton Lighthouse and walking trails. The Liscomb River Trail is an awesome 9.6 km trek that takes hikers through a loop along both sides of the Liscomb River (hence the hikeās name). This trail is relatively easy in terms of inclines and declines but rated moderate due to the length and terrain.
The trail offers plenty of access points to take in the riverās beauty and see the massive boulders left by the ancient glaciers, which are staples of the Nova Scotian wilderness. The trail includes a suspension bridge overlooking a wonderful waterfall and runs along a nearby fish ladder, which helps restock Atlantic salmon. (25 minute drive)
