This loft was on my list of places to stay for a long while and it did not disappoint!” - Hazel
"Industrial Modern" characterizes a lot of the interior design elements.

“Large beams. High Ceilings. Big Windows. High-end touches. The host was extremely amenable and very positive.” - Lionel, March 2021
During the renovation of this space, authentic historical details were kept intact. This combination of modern luxury and industrial charm creates a one-of-a-kind living space.
Large, sunny windows highlight the massive wood timbers and exposed brick walls. A leather sofa and two club chairs face the wall of windows and the 36” Smart TV. A perfect spot to relax with a glass of wine and your favorite TV show.
The kitchen maintains the industrial feel with custom open shelving and stainless steel appliances. There’s a large, quartz-topped island with casual bar seating - perfect for meal prep for the whole group. Friends and family will naturally gather here for morning cups of coffee and happy hour cocktails. There’s also a dining table with seating for four.
The best combination of natural and man-made lighting:
-5 large south-facing windows allow an abundance of bright sunlight during the day,
-custom industrial-style lighting sets the mood in the evenings.
In the master bedroom, the queen-size memory foam mattress sits against a natural wood headboard. There are individual reading lamps on either side. An office desk and workspace are ideal for completing remote work or school projects.
The second bedroom also includes another queen-size memory foam bed.
The full bath includes a modern concrete vanity, a tub and shower, and a stacked washer and dryer.
THE LOCATION:
With the winding Red River just a block away, it’s tough to beat the location of theLOFTonJAMES. You’re within easy walking distance of numerous eclectic downtown restaurants, bars, and shops.
The Forks, Theater District, and The Manitoba Museum are all within a few blocks as well.
“Bruce, Martina and Lauren truly go out of their way to make your stay flawless.” - Michelle Jan 2021
PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE HOST:
Clementines Cafe - an award-winning breakfast restaurant with a very on-trend and creative menu and eggs Benedict that is beyond.
Amsterdam Tea Room and Bar - Dutch-inspired and very creative menu with in-house made tea selections and a very trendy atmosphere.
Tall Grass Prairie Bakery at the Forks - I always recommend this stop during a morning walk from the loft to the Forks. They have arguably the best Cinnamon buns in town. Always fresh and warm. Our guests love this stop.
Deer & Almond - One of the most innovative local chefs and highly rated menus in the city.
Quamajuq Inuit Art Center - This is a brand new addition to the city Art Gallery. It hosts the largest Inuit art collection in the world and is only a 20-minute walk from the loft.
Museum of Human Rights - First National Museum to have been built outside of the capital city of Ottawa in the last 40 years. An amazing “living” museum that takes on the subject of Human Rights in real-time. There are many rotating/traveling exhibits as well as more permanent ones. We highly recommend booking an architectural tour of the building as it is a work of art as well.
