Perfect stay!
The Old Baker House was idyllic; it had oodles of charm and all the mod coms, comfortable sleeping too. All while nestled in the wonderful village of Stonesfield. Enjoyed the newly revived local pub, make many locals and Rosamund was the best! Thanks for a perfect stay!

We had a wonderful time. The house was fully outfitted with everything we needed. Comfortable beds and a huge tub. The off street parking was such a bonus. The location was great too. Nothing in the Cotswold was too far away.

Lovely cottage and owner.
This is such a quaint cottage In a small quiet village. The owner lives next door and the cottage was clean and well presented with all towels and basic amenities in place. Prosecco and flowers was a nice touch. Be warned the stairs are quite steep in keeping with the age of the property but this shouldn’t be a problem for most. The kitchen is well equipped and there’s lots to see and do nearby.

Beautiful property
Our stay with Ros was fabulous! The cottage was absolutely charming, very well equipped and spotless. The scones and homemade jam to welcome us were just the final touch! The driveway to the cottage is a little difficult to negotiate but pretty much everyone in the village would stop and help us. We could not have had a better stay!

A Proper Cotswold Experience!
My husband and I absolutely loved this place so beautiful. The cottage is really cosy and nothing was too much for the owner Roz, such a wonderful lady who gave us great tips on where and best times to visit places. The Old Bakehouse felt very homely and it was so lovely to receive homemade scones and jam on our arrival. You won't be disappointed and we shall certainly miss the place. Was certainly a great find!

Cotswolds Charmer!
We loved our stay at the Old Bakehouse for endless reasons! The home and town feel to be straight out of a movie with lovely furnishings, and glorious bedding. It is perfectly appointed with all that is needed for an enjoyable stay. We feel we have a friend in Ros, were rescued by Ian (one of the Stonesfield townspeople) when our rental car agency in Oxford was closed (our advice: go through EuroCar instead of Budget!), and enjoyed the White Horse, a local pub. We found ourselves throughout our daily travels in the Cotswolds longing to be among the authenticity in Stonesfield. We missed our chance to see local archeological treasures and walk the local paths and look forward to a return stay! PS Rosamund makes amazing scones and strawberry jam!

delightful, and just far enough afield from the madding crowd
Ros attends to every detail in her charming, masterful restoration of a 300+ centuries old bakery. Every item of tasteful decor had utility, from the furnishings, books, entertainment nooks, and kitchen that defies any master chef wanting a utensil. Want traffic congestion, tourist buses, rows of knick-knack shoppes, partying vacationers, and crowded restaurants? Then don't stay here; because what you'll find is an unspoiled Cotswold stone village with all the amenities you need for your true Cotswold experience, like a small grocer and authentic pub with locals. Ros is attentive and delightful, too! We loved our stay.

Charming property, wonderful owner
Ros made it a pleasure to spend our week in the Cotswolds. Her property exudes character, local charm and a feeling of being away from everything. A very nice retreat for a few days or a week. Easy access to Blenheim and other nearby historical houses. Drive to Waddesdon Manor for a special day.

Fabulous!
We absolutely loved our extended stay here in the cottage - a beautiful and comfortable home, set in a truly gorgeous Cotswold village. A warm welcome from our terrific host Ros, with scones and jam as well! We had a very quiet and private position at the cottage, and the firebox made it so cosy. The fantastic surrounding area is easily accessed, and there is a wealth of great pubs and eateries to enjoy. We were so happy to have found this spot!

Superb cosy cottage ideal for exploring the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire
The owner Ros and her daughter Jebet could not have made us feel more welcome. They were really helpful and made us feel at home right away. The cottage has been beautifully renovated by Ros from its former life as the village bakery. Really nice open plan layout on the ground floor with lovely comfortable chairs and settee. Ros obviously has real taste when it comes to classy renovation and you can tell how much thought has gone into the colours, features, and furniture - even the wide floorboards in the bathroom! (from a London Factory). The master bedroom has a really comfortable bed for a great nights sleep. As a walker, the location was perfect with part of the 66 mile Oxfordshire Way directly at the back of the house. We spent a day at Blenheim Palace (10 minutes up the road) and Woodstock. We also went to Oxford City centre and did a guided bus trip which I would strongly advise (as a lot of the buildings and interesting features are spread out). We also visited several Cotswold towns and villages including Burford which has a lovely high street full of old quirky shops. Also worth a visit is Burford Garden Centre (top end of town) which is the classiest garden centre I have ever seen. We ate out in the White Horse in Stonesfield (turn right out of the cottage to the junction and its a few hundred yards up the hill on the left) Very good food and ale (take a torch! and just beware it doesn't open on a Monday night). We also tried the Duke or Malborough Pub which from Stonesfield is just before you get into Woodstock - again very good food. The Woodstock Coffee house serves some stunning coffee and cakes. Highlights of this trip - The owners (and their really nice neighbours), the cottage particularly the log fire! and the beautiful walks around Stonesfield. We really enjoyed our Monday to Friday stay and would definitely go back again.

Lovely period cottage, beautifully up together with everything you could need
Thanks to Ros for her lovely property. We had a fantatsic few days and the cottage gave us a great base to go out and visit local attractions, but also a great space just to chill and spend time as a family. The cottage had everything we could have needed including loads of DVDs, books and games. The accommodation was great and it was lovely to spend the evenings holed up with the fire and a nice glass of wine. It was good to be able to get out to visit some of the things to do locally and we had a great meal in the pub in the village. The kids have already asked when we can gp back again as they loved sitting in the window seats with their books and looking out across the fields.
