Hotel is very dated, poor service in reception, charged twice for room, not sure it’s been sorted yet, but no apology given, just a very matter of fact attitude. Rooms at £215 per night as races were on excessively over priced . Remote control for TV was also missing

Modern bar and dining area - drinks quite expensive but on par with other hotels - prob the best breakfast we have ever had good quality produce - sausage and black pudding delicious and quality bread - fresh pineapple ! Coffee machine a let down and maybe pots of tea to be offered to cut down the queue Room was ok, tiny bathroom but manageable for one night - never been a lover of carpet in hotel rooms - was quiet once everyone had gone to bed as room was near the lift Staff were really attentive in all areas from bar to reception to the maids Will stay again for an overnight stay

The stay was very nice, but the only problem was getting woken up at 6am to a lorry outside the window unloading the washing. This went on for around 2 hours. Consistent noise. Even with the window closed it was very loud and we was u able to sleep after this. Not something you want when you had a nice night. But wake up this and then cannot get back to sleep.

We had to move rooms at 12:00 at night due to a noise (sounded like a fog horn) possibly coming from a maintenance room next door. The single padded chair had what looked like a urine stain on it The quilt was a single quilt in in a double quilt cover on a double bed The staff were lovely though and happy to help and once they were alerted to the issue moved us very quickly. As it was my husband’s birthday when we arrived we were given 2 complimentary drinks. We were also able to check in early, it’s just a shame the room was not up to standard

Visited during a period when the lower floor was under renovation. This added some minor inconvenience on arrival (not able to drive through to drop off passengers by reception, short walk outside getting to breakfast room) but was handled well by staff and signage. Staff were friendly and helpful.
