Great Location and Amazing Staff
The hotel is perfectly located just metres from the Shambles. Our first floor room was quite despite being near the lobby. However, the room and the bathroom were small, with no hooks for towels, and a large chair made the space feel cramped. Scaffolding outside ruined the view, though there was no noise. On the bright side, breakfast was excellent and the staff were fantastic - friendly and attentive. A great stay overall, but some small improvements would make it even better.

Very pleasant stay. All staff were very friendly and efficient, esp the girl who checked us in… couldn’t have been more plant and helpful. Ideal location in centre of York.

Great place to stay
Really enjoyed our stay - staff all very friendly and helpful. Relaxed but lively vibe. Only downside - we had lunch & dinner at the hotel & both times the food took ages to come, with long gaps between each person’s food arriving at the table. Apart from that, it’s one of the nicest places we’ve stayed.

Brilliant hotel
Super soft comfy beds, very warm welcome with a free cocktail each. Very clean everywhere. Room was beautifully decorated for our birthdays which was such a lovely touch. Fun vibrant atmosphere in the lobby/bar area. Breakfast was delicious! A brilliant variety. Only thing I left a little disappointed with was that because the hotel is pet friendly, we had a nice view during breakfast of a dog being dragged through the lobby with a trail of diarrhea behind it. Staff cleared it very quickly, and obviously wasnt a fault of the hotel, but as a non pet owner, with a sensitive stomach, it tainted our last morning a little.

Would recommend the Moxy
This was a lovely hotel, friendly, helpful staff. Nice complimentary gin punch! Pleasant foyer. Room fine for a night, although bit small for longer - no wardrobe or drawers, no chair. But this didn’t bother us for a night.

Super Location
Great location, right near the heart of the city. Just a few minutes walk from the Shambles and the Christmas market, close to public transport links. The room was very clean and modern, though the lack of clothes storage and places to hang more than one towel was a little frustrating. Overall a great hotel.
