Pass the Keys | 59 St Denys Road · Gorgeous 2-Bed House Right in the Heart of York

In the very heart of the beautiful city that is York, sits this lovely 2 bedroom Victorian house. This little gem offers great comfort with a wood burning stove and free parking (ask when booking). Ideal for couples, families and solo travelers looking for the comfort of the city center with original style and high quality furnishings. There is also a beautiful backyard with seating to enjoy the summer sun. The perfect place to enjoy your York get away and have a beautiful hub to come back to!

The space
St Denys Road is a typical Victorian terrace house which we have furnished to make a comfortable place to stay in central York. The stylish interior has been filled with original modern art, contemporary Yorkshire design, French antiques and retro classics. The hallway, stairs and landing have been freshly painted in September 2021 in an elegant French grey.

Downstairs there is an open plan living- dining room with a log burning fire. The kitchen provides a Magimix Nespresso machine for coffee lovers and there is the benefit of a dishwasher. Coffee pods are not supplied, as we appreciate everyone has their own preferences when it comes to coffee!

Outside there is a beautiful garden, perfect for enjoying breakfast on a sunny day, relaxing during the day and enjoying a glass or two of wine in the evening.

On the ground floor there are 2 double bedrooms and a bathroom with bath and separate shower. The master bedroom includes a king size bed and a large built in wardrobe with shelves, a dressing table with drawers and bedside tables with cupboards. The rear bedroom is usually set up as a super king bed but it can be configured as two single beds, according to your preference. Please make sure you message us beforehand if you require the set up as two single beds. This has a large wardrobe, a chest of drawers and bedside tables for storage.

There will be some complimentary tea/coffee waiting for you which I am sure will be useful for those arriving after a long journey!
Fresh white bedding and towels are provided (hand towel and bath towel per person), as well as miniature travel sized bottles of shampoo, shower gel and soap.Also included are dishwashing detergent packs, toilet paper, kitchen paper, etc., which will last for several days. If you want to do some more shopping during your stay, Tesco Express in Piccadilly is less than 5 minutes' walk away.

Re parking and laundry facilities - please read 'Other things to note'.

Managed by a professional co-host of Airbnb, my property is professionally cleaned and the linen/ towels are replaced with freshly laundered supplies between each stay. We offer remote access with easy self check-in and 24/7 guest support should you need any assistance during your stay.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
As well as our home, we take pride in our outdoor plants where a lot of care has been taken to nurture them, and in doing so, creating a beautiful outside space. An automatic watering system in the back garden comes on once a day for half an hour. Please do not touch it or any of the pipes. (The tap is taped up to make it clear it’s not to be adjusted in any way.)

CHECK IN / CHECK OUT
Check-in time is after 4pm and check-out time is before 10am. A £30 charge will be requested if guests check themselves in early without permission or if guests do not check out on time as this will cause disruption to my cleaner’s schedule.
Please note that you will be charged £100 for lost keys, so please be careful with them.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
In the rear bedroom there is a super king bed which is set up as default. If you require two single beds instead of a super king, please advise me at the time of your booking so that I can make suitable arrangements in advance of your arrival.

PARKING
Parking is available with a paper parking permit that is stored within the property.

Please note that parking is NOT directly outside the house due our city centre location. Parking is strictly in the R18 parking zone, where there is plenty of availability in adjacent streets from the house (2 minutes walk away).

If the permit is lost or damaged, there will be a £60 charge in addition to covering the cost of any parking until the new permit arrives

LAUNDRY SERVICES
There is no washing machine in the house however there is a fairly priced laundrette which is within 5 minutes walking of the house. Walmgate Bar Launderette, 39 Huby Court, York YO1 9UD. Please make sure to check their opening hours.

TRAVEL COT
A travel cot and mattress are available to borrow upon request, subject to availability, and at an additional cost of £20. Please ensure you message before hand so that I can arrange for the installation. Guests will need to bring their own cot bedding, including a bottom sheet. (I am afraid highchair requests cannot be met).

ALLERGIES
Our sofa cushions are feathered so if you have any allergies to feathers, please advise in advance.

IMPORTANT: On behalf of our host at Pass the Keys we require guest verification, which is provided by Superhog. Upon confirming your booking, Superhog will reach out to the lead booker through a secure link, providing detailed instructions for verification.

The online verification process requires a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card. During this process, you may choose between a refundable GBP 500 deposit (plus GBP 10 transaction fee currency equivalent) or purchase a non-refundable damage waiver of GBP 40 (currency equivalent) to cover potential damages during your stay.

Once verification is successfully completed, the check-in information will be provided. If you opted in for a deposit, this will be refunded via credit/debit card after your stay, subject to an inspection of the property.
