This recently renovated cottage is in a block of six lovely cottages which used to house the old stables for the village manor. You will have exclusive use of the cottage for the duration of your stay. The renovation of the cottages has been done with your comfort and enjoyment in mind. You can expect lots of character and luxury finishes with contemporary decoration. There is a Smart TV for cosy nights in, access to WiFi as well as iPod docking speakers. The cottage has two really comfortable bedrooms designed for a peaceful nights sleep - leaving you refreshed and ready for a day of exploring either the local countryside or the historic city of York

The walk to York, through the parks, alongside the river is idyllic and takes approx. 40 minutes. The cottage, set in this quiet and tranquil location is a hidden gem on the outskirts of town. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families alike.

The property has a double bed in one of the bedrooms and the other has the flexibility to be set as either a king or twin beds upon request. Please note the bed will be set as a double as standard unless you have specifically requested twin beds.

Parking for 1 car available onsite. Please note the EV charger is a 3 pin version so you would need the correct cable for this.

Middlethorpe Cottages
The location and presentation of the cottage was excellent, a pretty location, close to our family in Bishopthorpe Rd, with off road parking, which was what I was looking for when booking the week's holiday. However my daughter has Cerebral Palsy, and it was not obvious from the photos on the website as to whether there was a bath or a walk-in shower in the bathroom. I phoned to verify, and was told it had a walk in shower ,so I went ahead and booked no 6. To our disappointment, when we got there, it had a bath with a shower over! I had spent two or three long sessions on the website looking for a property with a walk in shower in the right area of York with parking nearby!! Fortunately we had packed 2 suction grabs as a precaution and with a lot of trepidation and practice runs she was able to access the shower with my supervision. Having said all that, the advantages of location, and the prettiness of the surroundings (but not the A64 constant noise) outweighed the problem of the bath and we would happily return again, with the suction pads!! Also, the blind in the bathroom is broken and needs replacing and the hot water tap in the basin wobbles. We had to use the bathroom in the dark at night for privacy!! I have kept the details of our booking and will definitely think about booking again. Thank you Margaret Allen

Excellent accommodation
Very nice place, definitely an up market feel to everything, very clean and tidy, Just don't park under the huge tree in the car park because if it rains, as it did one night, the car was covered in a sticky residue that I had to wash off before driving ! But overall highly recommended.
