We had a great stay at the York Holiday & Cycle Stop. When we arrived, we were given a quick guide to the area (best places to go for a drink, or food etc.) and then shown our pod and amenities. The pod was small and cosy, with tea/coffee making facilities and a comfortable bench that cleverly converted into a very large, double bed. We were situated close to the amenity block, which contained a number of self contained WC/Showers and a large kitchen facility, all of which were clean and well equipped. The site itself has gated access, with a security code, so you can come and go as you please. As added benefits, WiFi was available across the site, which came in handy, and the pod and amenities were heated, so we were never cold, despite it being a particularly chilly middle of March when we visited.
Our only real pick ups (being extra picky) was that the surrounding area has no shops/pubs within walking distance, and the nearest bus stop involves walking up some roads that we wouldn't have risked in the dark nights. One of the nearest pubs, which served food, doesn't actually serve food on Mondays or Tuesdays, so that also scuppered our plans slightly (we were staying Sunday-Wed), which wasn't mentioned in the guide. Again, these are picky points and out of the control of the site (but worth noting all the same).
We used the site as base to visit York and Leeds, and it was ideally located for the park and rides for both of these cities; we would definitely recommend!
