We had a fantastic two nights here. Yen and her family were wonderful, and extremely welcoming. Yen helped us with all our plans, and even drove us to the ferry on Sun-Moon lake. Thank you so much!
Wonderful place to stay. Slightly off the beaten path from the city and the lake, but next to college, the rooms are oversized and generous. The staff are incredibly friendly (including the resident dogs) and serve a delicious breakfast (included with room). The beds are large and comfortable; the rooms are clean. Great place to stay if you are in the sun moon lake area and want a peaceful play to sleep.
Great place, good staff, quiet area, delicious breakfast, and other guests were friendly and inviting into their gathering. The room was nice and beds were comfortable. You can rent bikes here too! Take a walk/ride into the nearby Adventist area and you'll find a steeply sloped hill view. Its awesome.
A perfect place if your desire is to be in a real rural neighborood away from tourist traps. Also conveniently located for bussing quickly to the lake. Beautiful piece of property but more importantly beautiful owners who went way beyond their call of duty. Delicious breakfast and best Lattes in Taiwan.
The owners are lovely people. They got us tickets at a discount, gave us lifts. We had unexpected plates of fruit brought to us. I highly recommend this guest house for a long weekend or more. We didn't want to leave, partly because they had 4 gorgeous puppies that we played with all weekend :)
Very friendly houseowners which really like to help you to have a nice stay. I was only one night there so they could not give me so much recommendations as they would like. They both speak English, so there is a good communication possible. The location is not directly at the Sun Moon Lake, but I was thete with a car and was thus there in a few minutes. I can only highly recomment this guesthouse, which I would more call a family hotel with very friendly hosts, for everyone who wants to explore the Sun Moon Lake and does not have to be directly at touristic center.
Excellent place! Rooms are spacious and super clean, bed is very comfy. But the best is the staff. There's a guy that doesn't talk English at all but we had the most fun using Google translate and body language! His sister does talk English well but wasn't around always.
The breakfast is excellent! Every morning they serve something different and the portion is big and delicious.
We had a car so the location was very convenient for us (5min to Sun Moon Lake or 10min to Puli). There is very good and cheap local food places just around the corner where we walked to have our dinner. Only tinytiny minus was that the lovely balcony area was just outside of our room so we could hear some noices through the walls in the morning. Would stay again and every bit worth the money.
The location is a bit far from sun moon lake (about 10 to 15 by car). suggest that you store your luggage at the tourist information desk at sun moon lake and check in later.
The hosts were very friendly and the place is cozy and welcoming. They made us breakfast in the morning, and even sang a couple of songs.
We were heading to Taipei the next day and they drove us out to the Yuchi station and waited with us.
It was a great experience and would recommend this bed and breakfast.
Stay in this guest house was so much different from I was expecting. The hosts are helpful and friendly. They even go the the extent of driving us to the nearby cultural park with no additional cost. The only downside was there are nothing to do after sunset. Breakfast was wonderful and it was accompany with some ukulele songs by the host himself.
Booked this place last minute, but surprisingly satisfied with pretty much everything. One bus straight from Taichung airport to hostel, pretty easy to find, quite close to nearby tourist spots and convenient, hostel looks new and clean, love the room and the garden. Very relaxing and welcoming. Excellent service, the staff has helped us a lot with planning. Breakfast is nice, I look forward every morning. Will definitely come back again.
People of the neighborhood is extremely nice and helpful, willing to drive you to inconvenient spots and bargain discounts for their customers, treat you like a family. Awesome breakfast. Highly recommend.
Warm welcome, rooms very clean. Great breakfast.
Hosts helped us on where to go for dinner and what to do the next day.
This place is a great bargain in the the region.
Just know the rooster might wake you up in the morning...it's the countryside after all!!
Kind of remote location, hard to find and have to call the host to pick me up at Sun Moon Lake. If you go there by bus you will easily miss the station. Very good enviornment (3 dogs, 2 chicken), comfortable bed and clean washroom. There are around 7 free bikes for guests to borrow, you can bike around 3 minutes to 7-11 or bike another direction for about 7 minutes to get some street food.
This B & B looked like it could have been dropped in Taiwan from Northern California. Very simple rooms, nicely decorated with patios, tables and chairs scattered here and there. The hosts are so friendly and helpful, especially the soon to be wife. Whenever she had free time she offered to take my here and there. Once even coming to fetch me from a restaurant (a delicious hot pot place in the little town) to see if I wanted to go back to the lake to see the temple lit up at night! And since she felt a lunch from the local 7-11 was not healthy she scootered me over to the bakery to pick up something for my bus trip. The one drawback is the location. It`s no problem to take the bus from the corner 2 or 3 stops to Sun Moon Lake or the Aboriginal Village but the last bus back is pretty early and I don`t know what time the first bus is. So if you`re interested in seeing the sunrise or sunset over the lake (it`s often so misty you can`t), this probably isn`t the right place for you. But if that isn`t a priority I`m sure this B &' B is much nicer than the hotels at Sun Moon Lake. You can take the Nantou Bus from the Taichung HSR or regular train station to SanYu (a couple of stops before Sun Moon Lake). There is a neon sign pointing the way as well as a sign for the Adventist College which is at the end of the street. You can walk into the little town for dinner at a small restaurant or street shop. 10 - 15 minutes from the hotel. I had a wonderful stay.
we made the mistake of reading a review and thinking this was at sun moon lake. we took the "express" bus from taipei (drops off in sun moon lake) but then there was no way for us to get to the hotel - cabs and buses are infrequent at 8pm. thankfully, a very kind shopowner called the hotel for us and they sent someone down to pick us up. they were super friendly and super helpful, making sure we had maps and tips for the best places to stop along the lake for views/photos. the bus in the morning was also pretty sporadic so the gal who'd picked us up (along with her fiance whose english is quite good) ended up dropping us at the lake and getting us set up with rental bikes. only downsides were the dogs on the property who barked at guests (including us) at random hours and that we didn't realize we were not right at sun moon lake. if you do the taipei bus, get off at yuchi (2nd to last stop) and it's a 5-minute walk. they have a huge neon sign telling you where to turn and another one right outside the place so it's not as hard to find as a prior review that we read. if you take the bus to sun moon lake, it should be about 26NT one way - hold onto your small change. room itself was clean, spacious and had a fridge. internet connection was awesome!
Doris and partner made us feel very welcome and did everything they could to help us with our travel plans. They shuttled us to the lake and even took us to see fireflies one evening.
