Day 1: HCM – My Tho – Ben Tre – Can Tho (L, D)
You will leave the Ho Chi Minh city about 8:00 am. Along the way, you can admire the scenic banks bordered by green rice fields.
On your arrival at My Tho, you will pay a visit to Vinh Trang pagoda, where you can take a leisurely boat ride along the river, observe the unique stilt houses, explore the fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank.
Then, you will get on board of the sampan and cruise down the river around the magnificent Tortoise islands, where you will have lunch in the orchard garden.
After that, you will take part in a boat ride to An Khanh – a less visited place in Ben Tre, to enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the large shadow of the water coconut trees along the beautiful natural canals, then sample some kinds of tropical fruits and especially join in an amazing performance of folk song music performed by the local people.
Afterwards, you will go to a family business to explore the idyllic rural lifestyle as well as sample the delicious coconut sweets& observe the pastoral life when roaming through the fruit plantation and village.
Then, you will head to Can Tho to stay overnight in the local hotel after having time exploring bustling Can Tho market.
Day 2: Phong Dien – Cai Rang (B)
You will get on a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river (Bassac River) before going to one of two colourful floating markets of Cai Rang and Phong Dien, which are the most stunning in the whole religion.
Here, you can also have a chance to observe the way locals make Vietnamese vermicelli soup and taste it.
After that, you will wander around the village, where you can encounter the hospitable local people and discover the way to cross a “Monkey bridge” which is constructed by only one trunk of bamboo before visiting the orchard garden.
Then, you will have time for lunch.
Finally, you will transfer back to Saigon. The trip ends around 5 pm.
