Overview

This is an excellent 3 day tour taking you from Edinburgh through the Highlands to Speyside and over the course of your 3 day tour you will visit 3 Highland Distilleries and 6 Speyside Distilleries including the 3 of the largest and most well known , The Macallan , Glenfiddich and Glenlivet as well as some smaller lesser known Distilleries such as Aberfeldy and Glenallachie. Included in your tour are tastings of at least 27 single malts during the 3 days of your tour. We also take you to visit The Speyside Cooperage where you can see first hand the Coopers working on the casks. We can advise you about the accommodation availability based on your expectations and budget , there is a lot of reasonably priced accommodation available. This tour can also be customised according to your preferences

Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery

After leaving Edinburgh behind us we travel north to Highland Perthshire and we stop in the little town of Aberfeldy where we visit Aberfeldy Distillery for a tutored tasting of 3 Drams.
Pitlochry

We stop in the lovely little town of Pitlochry where you will be able to take a walk and grab some lunch before we visit our next Distillery
Blair Athol Distillery

Blair Atholl Distillery is actually located in Pitlochry and this is our next stop where we have an actual Distillery Tour followed by a tasting of 3 of their single malts.
Dalwhinnie Distillery

We continue our journey North and we come to Dalwhinnie Distillery which sits high up in the Cairngorm Mountains , this is in fact the highest altitude Distillery in Scotland. We stop here for a tutored tasting of 3 single Malts

Day 2: Speyside Tour to The Speyside Cooperage and Glenlivet , Cardhu and Aberlour Distilleries.

Speyside Cooperage Visitor Centre

After collecting you from your accommodation we take you to The Speyside Cooperage for a tour where you will see the coopers at work preparing the casks ready to be filled with the amber nectar , after the tour you will be given a tasting of the Cooperages own single malt. The visit to the Cooperage is only available from Mondays to Fridays so on Saturdays + Sundays we will start the day at Glenlivet and you will be given a free dram during your lunch to make up for missing the Cooperage Tour.
The Glenlivet Distillery

The Glenlivet Distillery was one of the first licenced Distilleries in the area and the owner at that time used to carry a gun for protection because he was being threatened by smugglers who did not want him to be licenced , there are smuggler trails all around the Distillery. We stop here for a tour followed by a tasting of 3 single malts.
Craigellachie

We stop in the little village of Craigellachie where we visit the Highlander Inn for lunch. The Highlander Inn is a working mans pub that offers excellent choices for lunch , the gantry here is impressive offerring a selection of more than 300 whiskies from all around the World.
Cardhu Distillery

Cardhu Distillery sits high above Speyside and was once owned by a smuggler. His wife used to stand on top of the barn waving a large red flag to alert other illegal Distillers that the excise men were in the area. Cardhu Distillery is now owned by Diageo , we stop here for a tutored tasting of 3 single malts.
Aberlour Distillery

Day 3: Tour to The Macallan , Glenfiddich and Glenallachie Distilleries before returning to Edinburgh

Glenfiddich Distillery

The Glenfiddich Distillery is the largest producer of single malt whisky in Scotland , we stop here and visit their whisky lounge where you will get a tasting of 2 Glenfiddich and 2 Balvenie single malts , The owners of Glenfiddich also own The Balvenie and they also own Hendricks Gin so if you dont want whisky you could have Gin instead.
The GlenAllachie Distillery

Glenallachie Distillery is our next port of call and this little Distillery is now owned by a stalwart of the Whisky industry , a chap called Billy Walker , he has more than 50 years experience in the industry and is now in The Whisky Hall of Fame. He is known as The Master of Wood as he uses oak from different countries around the World , you will have an opportunity to enjoy a tasting of 3 of their delicious expressions.

The Macallan Distillery

Our final Distillery stop of the tour is at the World Famous Macallan Distillery. The visitor centre here was rebuilt a few years ago and has won numerous awards for its design and architecture , to see the Whisky Wall is an experience in itself. We stop here to visit the bar where you will enjoy a tutored tasting of 3 of their single malts. The Macallan Distillery is only open to visitors from Thursdays to Sundays.
The House of Bruar

After departing Speyside we head through the Cairngorm Mountains on our way back to Edinburgh and we stop at The House of Bruar for a rest room break. The House of Bruar is the Highlands equivalent of Harrods , we plan for a 30 minute stop here however if you want more time here then it is possible.
