Know before you book

  • Public transport options are available nearby
  • Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap
  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • We visit an ancient temple during this tour. Remember that temples are sacred places and you must dress appropriately. Shoulders and knees need to be covered.
  • Don't expect countless vendors in boats at Amphawa Market; this market is more like a canal-side market. In Thai, these markets are called “talat nam” which literally means “water market”, but is translated to English as “floating market”. Of course, there are some vendors on small wooden boats that cook and sell their food to visitors. But you will mostly find dozens of restaurants and food stalls along the canal serving delicious food and local delicacies. Amphawa Market is definitely worth visiting though. It is a very popular market among the locals because of all the delicious snacks and food that can be found there.
  • Maximum number of participants per group is 10 persons.

Activity itinerary

Maeklong Railway Market (Talad Rom Hub)
  • 3h 10m
Check out the Mae Khlong Railway Market, it’s located right on top of a railway line, and trains run right through the market a few times per day. Suddenly a train approaches as the market literally folds away and lets the train pass through. Then, in a matter of seconds, it unfolds back into a busy market. The duration of attraction included travelling time from Bangkok to Maeklong.
Wat Bang Kung
  • 1h
Visit Wat Bang Kung, one of the most iconic. Having been engulfed by the roots and branches of large banyan trees over the course of several centuries the temple provides a seamless combination of natural beauty and serene spiritualism.
Amphawa Floating Market
  • 3h 50m
Amphawa Market is a vibrant and colourful market. It’s become such a magnet for Bangkokians during weekends that food stalls have grown from the riverbanks and stretched far into the surrounding streets. Visitors can delight in a myriad of authentic Thai flavours, culture and sights as they explore the local items for sale and chat with the friendly locals. Along each side of the canal, old charming wooden shops sell everything from traditional handicraft souvenirs to delicious street food. As the sky darkens, we embark on a firefly boat ride through the tranquil waterways surrounding the market. While the firefly boat rides can be enjoyed any evening, they are particularly magical during the dry season. Amphawa offers visitors a real unique and memorable experience! NOTE: Don't expect countless vendors in boats at Amphawa Market; this market is more like a canal-side market. The duration of attraction included travelling time from Amphawa back to Bangkok.

We enjoyed the railway market but thought we were also going to get to enjoy the floating market experience by boat that I’ve heard is a fun experience and I thought was part of this tour but that is not the case. So If your not interested in experiencing the floating market and want to see a firefly then this is for you.

4 stars because, This is not a real floating market. It is physical ground based market with canals for show. Unfortunately our guide did not know good English. You only go to the boat for the evening firefly visit, which is amazing. If you want to go the real floating market explore, other tour options. Communication from the tour company was very prompt.

Nok was a great tour leader. She was very knowledgeable and caring. Explained the history and showed us where to eat and also meet. Was very well timed, we arrive in time to see the train pass through and the floating market was great.
