The Sonkamuotka region is a magical place where the night sky comes alive with dancing colours and shimmering lights. Aurora hunters from around the world flock to this remote location in search of the elusive Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis. Here, in Sonkamuotka area, far from civilisation, is the best chance to catch Aurora and enjoy the wild nature of Lapland.
We move about 1 hour away from the city lights and car pollution to Sonkamuotka area. (Enontekiö) has the least light pollution and the darkest night sky in Europe. Sonkamuotka is made for admiring the Northern Lights and taking photos.
We will equip ourselves with snowshoes so that we can move on the frozen lake.
We will make a fire in the middle of nature and enjoy a hot drink and a cookie while we waiting for Northern Lights will appear, our guide will provide you information about Lapland.
