What you can expect

Leave the city crowds behind for a day and follow the ancient Berber trails through river valleys and over mountain summits, discovering the hospitality and traditional lifestyles of Morocco. Arrive in a settlement characteristic of the region and savour a tasty lunch served in customary fashion.

Begin your journey by heading out over the Al Haouz Plain. Before long, the fast-climbing Atlas Mountains take off in front of your eyes. Arrive at the Berber village of Tahanaout for a tour of the mills and partake in the tradition of drinking a refreshing mint tea. See how the red clay buildings blend wonderfully with the terrain of olive groves and lemon and orange trees.

Absorb views of peaks that rise to nearly 10,000 feet (3,048 m) as the different landscapes fuse to form a plush scene for you to delight in. Enjoy a traditional lunch at La Kasbah Restaurant, which overlooks Toubkal Mountain, before heading back to the buzz of city life.

This tour was a full day of driving, stopping for landmarks and small experiences along the way. There is very little walking involved. Scenery is amazing and you get to be up in the Atlas Mountains, seeing many Berber villages. I enjoyed being walked through market day in one village, the Argan/health store was a great experience as was the walk through a Berber house. Lunch was really lovely at a very nice restaurant. I would have like a more comfortable trip as there were four if us packed into an SUV so three in the back is not ideal. I would have liked a decent walk at some point in the day. I would have liked a lot more info from the tour guide about the people and area - we did get some info which was good.

La ruta es a traves de las montañas del L'Atlas, muchas horas en coche por carreteras serpenteantes! Muy buen conductor y coche, pero un poco anodina! Finaliza el tour en el Valle de Orika! Estuvo bien, pero no repetiria!

Great day out. Make sure you bring grippy walking shoes if you want to see the waterfall. Very steep and slippery when wet. Well worth the effort.

Although there was only one other couple on the tour they were French with some English (more than our French!!!) and the Guide spent a lot of time talking to them. Not a huge problem BUT this was advertised as an ENGLISH speaking tour. However, our Guide was great and coped very well.
