GDR Watch Tower

The tower was erected in 1971 and was manned by two border patrol soldiers working 8-hour shifts in cramped conditions. In 2001, it was listed as a site of historical importance

Pedal on to reach the Tear Palace, which is a colloquial name for the former border crossing point between East and West Berlin.
