Sandy was an exceptional host who provided an in-depth history of South Africa diamond mining. I had the chance to learn about the 4Cs of diamonds and even try on engagement rings, which was a fantastic experience. It’s definitely a visit worth making!

Our guide gave us the history of diamond mining. How and who used diamonds first. She took us to see the actual process of polishing and preparing the diamond after it has been cut. She explained the 5 ‘C’s about diamonds. We were offered drinks and shown items of jewellery, if only we had the money to purchase. I learned a lot. Thanks to Shamie Abrahams.

It was nice to see the diamond museum. It's obvious that they are using this to promote Shimansky Jewellery. Nonethess, the jewellery were absolutely gorgeous and our host (Carmen) was amazing!

It was a very moving and humbling experience to visit this Township. It is an important part of Cape Town’s history and is a must do tour to understand what has gone before

It was a fantastic experience, I was really amazed by this museum and the work they do! This unique museum is actually a part of the local jewelry store "SHIMANSKY", so when you arrive you need to let the staff know that you are there for the museum (a visit should be booked beforehand). I was super lucky as I was the only one for the 4 p.m. tour and I was met by the passionate guide Aloma, who actually did the tour with me. I have never met such an interesting guide, who not only showed and explained everything but also answered my 100's questions about the diamond's history and the industry :) At first, I thought that it would be another boring/standard museum, but I am glad that I ended up visiting it, it was an outstanding experience with Aloma and it completely turned my perception of the industry upside down. Moreover, if you book between 9-13:00 workdays, you will be able to see actual jewelry and diamond carving! Truly, this is one of the Top 5 things to visit in Cape Town.
