Activity itinerary

Maeklong Railway Market (Talad Rom Hub)
  • 2h 30m
The amazing Mae Klong Railway Market, locally known as Talat Rom Hoop ('Market Umbrella Close'). Imagine a train going straight through a public market! The Mae Klong Railway Market has been around since 1905. Fishing was (and still is) one of the main livelihoods of the people who lived here, and the market was another way in which to sell their goods. Officials decided to build a railway in order to better deliver these goods to other provinces. The market remained, however, despite the new tracks that cut through it. The duration included travelling time from Bangkok to Maeklong.
Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
  • 4h
Our first stop of the day will be the famous floating market Damnoen Saduak. You will board a long-tail boat for a ride through the canals. The Damnoen Saduak canal was ordered to be built in 1866 by King Rama IV to facilitate waterborne travels between Ratchaburi and Samut Sakhon provinces. It was finished and opened to the public in 1868. Photos of this vibrant market featuring boats laden with colourful fruits and vegetables, agricultural produce as well as authentic, local sweets, delicacies and souvenirs, are among the most often published in travel magazines and brochures of Thailand. Total time spend here is including travelling time from Bangkok to Damnoen Saduak (approx. 1,5 hrs - depending on traffic situation). NOTE: Damnoen Saduak is very touristy nowadays, but it still guarantees the floating market experience, even though it doesn't always feel totally authentic. The duration includes travelling time from Damnoen Saduak to Ayutthaya.

Wat Mahathat, also known as the Monastery of the Great Relic, is believed to have been built around the 14th century and was once residence to the Supreme Patriarch leader of the Thai Buddhist monks. Entrance fees THB 50 per person is NOT included and must be paid cash on day of the tour:
Wat Phra Sri Sanphet
  • 2h 30m
  • Admission ticket not included
Used mainly for ceremonies that served to authenticate the king’s spiritual and moral authority, Wat Phra Si Sanphet was the official royal temple. No monks lived here and only people within the royal circle were allowed to enter. Destroying Wat Phra Si Sanphet and the Royal Palace was a priority of the invading Burmese. They melted down 160 kilos of gold from the Phra Buddha Chai Sri Sanphet image and set fire to everything else. The distinctive pagodas of Wat Phra Si Sanphet are one of the most famous sights in Ayutthaya. Entrance fees THB 50 per person is NOT included and must be paid cash on day of the tour: The duration included travelling time from Ayutthaya to Bangkok.
