What you can expect

Christchurch lies one of New Zealand’s premier wine regions, and wine will be the reason you stay awhile. Waipara is a picturesque valley and township is only 55mins away from Christchurch. This wine region is part of the larger North Canterbury wine region that spans nearly 200km of the South Island’s eastern coastline, with the majestic Alps to the west and the great Pacific Ocean to the east.

You will be picked up to head north towards your destination, along the way your knowledgeable and friendly tour guide will point out Christchurch’s top highlights, and the city will make way for country. Make sure you have your camera ready, as the countryside is beautiful.

Arriving in Waipara, get ready to visit a few of the local vineyards, and sample some of their best red and white wines. Enjoy a delicious lunch that is included in your day out. At the end of the day your guide will drive you back to the city with fantastic memories of a wonderful day out.

Firstly, the timing was good and punctual. Next, the driver/guide was fantastic and fun, explain lots of things along the way, from history to culture... We have a small bag of snacks which was thoughtful. Inside were a small bar of chocolate, chips, biscuit and bottle of water. On the 3 wineries visited, they were hospitable and introduced their products with tasting. Added them up, I think it came to at least half a bottle. The other participants were lively, mostly from a cruise ship. Overall, it was a fun event and recommended for visitors to know the local winery industry. Thank you.

The guide was well organised. We visited 3 vineyards and sampled about 6 different wines at each. We were told about the history of the vineyard and the variety of the wines produced. The lunch was of excellent quality. Only improvement would be shown behind the scenes and how wine is produced, type of barrels etc. Overall a good day out

Great for wine lovers! Wine tasting at 3 places was a bit much for me (too much wine). Would have been good to get a tour of the factories or explanation of how their wine is made.

Everything was perfect! All the members with us were really lovely and fun. After the tour, we’d like to go back to one of the wineries to shop, and the driver, David took us to the winery and I was able to buy my favorite wine! This tour was the last activity for us before going back. We were really lucky to join such a wonderful tour! Thank you so much!!! I’ll recommend it to those who love wine!
