Activity itinerary

Lisbon (Pass by)
The tour departs directly for picturesque Nazaré. Expect a short, comfortable highway trip of around 80 minutes.
Sitio de Nazaré
  • 20m
On arrival, you'll visit the promontory, known as Sitio, where a good handful of must-see attractions await you within walking distance.
Miradouro do Suberco
  • 15m
It's best to start at the Suberco viewpoint, 110 metres high, overlooking the town and Nazaré beach.
Ermida da Memoria
  • 10m
Afterwards, we'll stroll around the site and, among other things, we'll go to the Chapel of The Miracle's Memory to learn about a famous local tale.
Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Nazare
  • 15m
Next, we go up to the 14th century Sanctuary of Our Lady of Nazareth, the first sanctuary in Portugal, where you'll discover something curious.
Forte de Sao Miguel
  • 1h
  • Admission ticket not included
(OPTIONAL) If you feel like it, we can take a walk to the 16th century Fort and currently Surf Museum and Interpretive Centre of the Nazaré Canyon. The Fort is built on top of the cliff and overlooks the Nazaré Canyon, where the legendary Giant Waves take place and, depending on the time of year, you may see some brave surfers surfing them.
Ascensor da Nazaré
  • 20m
  • Admission ticket not included
(OPTIONAL) You won't want to miss the opportunity to take the Nazaré Funicular. This cable car connects the two communities of Nazaré, the one by the beach and the one by the promontory.
Praia da Nazare
  • 20m
We're now heading to Nazaré's golden sandy beach, the town's old streets, the local market and the fishermen's quarter.
Seca do Peixe
  • 10m
Here you'll learn about local traditions especially those related to the community's main activity, fishing.
Mercado Municipal de Nazare
  • 15m
You'll enjoy meeting the Varinas, the local women dressed in their seven colourful skirts. By the way... Sometimes they're a bit cheeky!
Rua dos Pescadores
  • 15m
It's time to wander around the old fishermen's quarter and see some very picturesque things and maybe stop to buy some souvenirs.
Miradouro da Pederneira
  • 15m
We'll visit another viewpoint, Pederneira, and take the opportunity to shoot some more amazing photos.
Nazare (Pass by)
(OPTIONAL) Suddenly it's time to head back to Lisbon, but if you want to have lunch locally (here you can taste some of the best fish and seafood in the world) or continue discovering the region until the end of the day, just talk to us... we know some incredible sites in the region that go beyond the pin on the map and that we'd love to show you.
Lisbon (Pass by)
Back to the Lisbon area. The journey takes between 5 and 7 hours, depending on the optional visits you make and whether you decide to have lunch on site. As a matter of transparency, we would like to inform you that in addition to the added time of 2 hours given to the attractions listed in the itinerary, the remaining 3 to 5 hours announced refer to: 3 hours for the total travel time, and the other 2 hours for the total time of the moments listed as optional. By the way... we'd like you to know that by choosing us you're choosing a free tour for children under 11 and a 100% sustainable car trip, as all GHG emissions generated are fully offset. Remark: The sighting of the world's biggest surfable waves, over 25 metres high (+80 ft), can be enjoyed mainly between November and March. This event, although frequent during this period, is always subject to favourable weather conditions, so giant waves sightings cannot be guaranteed.
